Not sure about the GS, but I took my previous STI to the Subaru dealership about this same issue and was told that it was normal.

Isn't that something? Imagine how many people they send home that way and never fix their cars. You should be irate.

i've had 5 Lexus vehicles, and have driven plenty of loaners, never ever heard a sound from the steering wheel... so i guess they're saying that if it's silent then that's not normal. damn shame.

I dunno maybe mine wasn't as loud as the OP's so it didn't really bother me, I could slightly hear it with the music off...

A lot of RX350 owners like myself have this steering wheel noise also. Dealers say its normal.
