I might be a bit late to this discussion, but here in cali, the dealer offered me this service that if there were any dents on my doors, they would repair it for free. Though the flat rate of having this was around 1-2k for the lifetime of the car or at least 4years or something. It was one of those things they try to sell you after you bought the car and selling you warranty of 4 years or 6 years. Maybe you can ask your dealer for something like that if they offer it. But yeah, hope you get that fixed, nothing sucks more than having something new get damaged already.

I'd if I could, but the dealer is little more than an hour of drive. I'm going there this late because my other car key gets to the dealer this late (they said the second key was in Japan at the time I purchased the car), so I just wanted to make a one time trip to the dealer instead.

I wouldn't be concerned with the dent, PDR will take care of that easily. The touch up paint would be the worrying thing for me...

Dealers farm out the PDR service to specialists and often they only come to a dealer a couple of times a week. Always best to call ahead and make an appointment.

The dent isn't a problem, but the paint is. You paid for a blemish free, NEW car. You should qualify for the dealer's return policy still. I would demand a new GS or get a refund.

Good luck! I hope the dealership can provide you with an excellent resolution.

I can't make out the touch up paint in the pic. Was it sprayed on?

Theres no such thing as a "return policy" for a car in most markets. I know a couple states allow that, but most do not.

Don't you just bring your car in to customer service/returns and bring your receipt? Usually they put it right back on the truck and you can pick a new one out or get your money back. Just like wal mart right?

Putting this one on the OP, just as much your fault as it is the dealer. Buying a 50k+ car, you should look over it. I asked my car be delivered still with the plastics on before I sign any papers. Cars get damaged in shipping often. Hope you made out well today.

Thanks for the posts guys, the dealer performed PDR on my baby today, the dent and the paint were gone like a magic. First they were trying to play the DEALER GAME (which is what I expected) saying he did not hear any dent from the detail dept must be someone else hit my door after I walked out. . Then I insisted they could do better than this, for an OTD of 60K car I would expect more from them. So the manager gave up and took my car to their dent dept, and backed in 30 mins for a perfect look.

Hence, the paint is like those cheap touch up pens you buy them from pepboy.

I took delivery of the car at night so was not able to inspect it thoroughly, but will keep it in mind thanks for all your suggestions. (learned the lesson)

Now, I can continue enjoying my baby...

PDR is so cheap its totally stupid they even argued with you about it. Bet the paid their tech $20 to do that and make you happy.

Dealers are so short sighted sometimes.
