Remote start and warranty
Does anyone know if adding remote start will void the extended warranty? Also which after makert system have you installed? Do you like it? How does it work? Does the engine kill once you grab the door handle like the lexus one?

I have the Lexus one as well.. I don't mind the engine stopping, the range sucks real bad, yet I was assured the range was 300+ feet by the sales guy.. even showed it worked.. in the car lot.. I can't repeat that!

Hmm I was considering sucking it up and buying the RES. I'm tired of waiting for Lexus to release RES+ and want remote start but don't want a second remote. Maybe it's just not worth it....

If they ever get res+ going, it would be great.. that would relieve the problem I have with the short distance reach of the RS I have

My Avital remote start on my Camry was fantastic! I remote started it from like 1/2 a mile away. Still works great after 13+ years. I figured I can slum it out a bit since the GS has heated and ventilated seats. We'll see once winter comes.

I went for an estaminet. They recommend this viper one. And if wanted I could do the smart start. I don't know if it's worth it. What's your thought.
I have some avital system now on my old ES. It works I just don't like the range. I can start it from my house, but after a 100 ft or so it's useless. He said about 9/10 times the car won't shut down when I touch the handle, he won't know until he gets into the car. I really do not want the car to shut down when I enter. All the starting and stoping doesn't sound good the car.
edit - if anyone from the Long Island area has a suggestion on where to go, let me know!

I have RES and GBS in my GS. They were both complementary add-ons that I made the dealer include in the sale. The remote engine start is convenient, I always hold the remote to my jaw to make the range extend. The turning off then turning back is not that bad. Now if i Paid $1200 for it like the RES+ on the RX, then I would be pissed.

LOL, I agree.. I want to see vids on this. No chance that would work.. unless you have a mouth full of braces :P
I have been complaining to my SA ever since I got the car about the range. They say it's much further becuase the remote's range for locking (one button push) works and it does but the car ignores the holding down of the button on th ethird push.
