Pulled the trigger now break-in advice
Follow up on the current discount thread I bought an Obsidian/Flaxen GS AWD with Luxury and cold weather package, NAV, Blind spot,Park assist, rear bumper app MSRP $59838.00 paid $53800 for around a 10% discount. Took a bit of haggling but worked out ok, I think.
Picking it up this afternoon, any break-in advice? The car has 3 miles on it so I would like to start out properly.
Thanks for the help, guess I'll be hanging around here for awhile.

Drive it like you stole it, they say... on mine, I did the 600 mile, varying my speed thing as recommended.
Congrats on your purchase! Nice color combo! Did you get HUD as well?

Very tough to do indeed but I did it. Took it easy the first 1K miles or so. Around 1,200 miles I red lined it a few times.

Congrats! Excellent combination of choices. I'm old fashioned. I believe all engines need to be warmed up. I started slow as recommended in the manual. I still wait for the RPM to go down to 1K before I pull her out of the garage. People argue there would be no difference but if you keep your foot on the brake after the car is started, you will feel the pressure released when the RPM goes down to 1K. I'm gonna turn this car in in two years but I baby her like an egg inside out. She still has the new car smell.
PS: Don't let them wash your car.

I always thought it made sense to go a bit easy for awhile, especially braking and hard acceleration. Seems like there is a new school of thought there but it cant hurt to take it slow at first.
Thanks for the advice,
