Order 2013 or wait for 2014
I have a great price on a 2013 GS350 F-Sport w/ML, blind spot, illuminated door sills, etc. Standard package with MSRP of $58,617. I have negotiated a price of $52,200. The problem is, no dealer in the entire Western Region has the color combo I want (StarFire Pearl w/Flaxen interior). The dealer also said none are coming in on the current allotment. They suggested I order one and they would honor the $52,200 negotiated price.
Financing/Lease specials would be whatever was being offered at the time I take delivery of the car. I am assuming that the closer we get to the 2014's coming out, the better the lease deals will be. However, there is no guarantee. Current deal is 0.0005 money factor, plus $2500 cash, plus LFS making the first month payment.
Dealer also says I would be under no obligation to purchase my $2k deposit would be refunded. (Obviously I would get all of this in writing before placing my order.)
From what I've read, order go in on the 20th of each month. Is that correct? If so, then that means August 20th. Don't special orders take something like 2-3 months? That puts delivery around October/November. When do the 2014's come out? Wonder what changes will be made to the 2014's?
Decisions, decisions....
Your thoughts?

My dealer indicated that there won't be many changes for the 2014 models, except the RWD F-Sport model may come with an 8 speed tranny.
$52k is a great price - would you mind telling me the dealer where you found this deal?

Internet Sales, Longo Lexus of California. Also Lexus of Oxnard will match price. However, I don't have confirmation from Oxnard about ordering one.

Dustin, if you can get them to put it in writing about honoring that negotiated price, then I'd order the '14 model. Lexus isn't accepting orders on the '13s anymore as they are not building anymore. What's in the pipeline already is it. So if you are looking at that time frame and you have them held to that price, then pull the trigger and order a '14 model. You might even be able to time it right and get one at the first part of December and take advantage of the twice a year sale Lexus runs and get even more manufacturer cash off on the vehicle and lower the price even further.
But as I just pulled the trigger back in May on the deal with mine fully loaded F Sport except attention monitoring system, I got the car down about 5k as you did, got another $2,500 off, and the rate is good as well.
Just know the flaxen interior is also highly susceptible to color transfer from pants like your jeans and is a bit higher maintenance. So long as you know that, it's great. I also have the Starfire Pearl. First white car and I love it. Just be sure as others have posted to get any tire overspray off of the paint immediately like the dealership uses at it stains and takes a few months to fade out of the paint. No amount of cleaning gets it out. I'm being overly sensitive obviously on these two points, but it's otherwise a phenomenal car.

Don't believe dealerships, they know less than we do. Lexus is not going to change anything cosmetic about the car, its only the second model year of the new design.

There will be huge deals on 2013's better than the OP's $52,200. As soon as the '14s are announced they will be desperate to clear inventory. December to remember!

Did you ever try South Bay Lexus? Usually they have the hard-to-find color combos. Flaxen is a tricky color, it dye transfers really easily, and is only available on certain packages.
South Bay L is also really good at price matching, if not beating written offers. Ask for Benjamin Park and tell him James from CL sent you. He has hooked it up for me countless of times. Bought all of my GXs there, have a 2013 GX on order however given recent news on the facelift, I told him I might hold on. My sister bought an IS from him, and parents bought there cars from him. Shop around, get a written offer and email it to him. He is good. my .02 cents.
