Default Does anyone have any issues with HID's in their fog lights?

I've been having problems ever since I got mine installed.

Basically what happens is, everytime I turn the lights on, fog lgihts stay on for about 3 seconds and then shut off. If I turn them off and on again they stay on.

Sometimes only one side will shut off. The thing is, once they are on I can turn them on and off and they work just fine. This problem only occurs during the initial warm up.

I've tried different bulbs, but it did not help. However, I have not tried different ballasts yet.

My question is, if you have HID's in fog lights with zero problems, which ballasts / HID kit do you have?

I have HID in fogs and have zero issue. Have a cheap Xentec before but swap to a Philips kit bought from Nigel.

Sound like you have a bad igniter. (ballast)

Are you running a relay harness by any chance?

Sounds like a ballast problem. Switch to Philips or morimoto (from theretrofitsource.com) and hopefully it'll clear up your problem.

I'm running on stock harness.

Get the Philips one for peace of mind:

Not to sidetrack, but wanted to add a note about appearance. I rarely use fog lights, but have them on my luxury model. Last night the valet had them on when he pulled up the car and it's striking how awesome it looks in the dark! Completely different look. I may have to use them more often.

Yeah, it could be the ballast. What's strange though, is the fact that both ballasts act this way. And they are not some cheap knock offs. I have slim OEM Denso ballasts...
