Aftermarket Amp and Subwoofer Install
This past weekend, I finally got some time to put in my 12' Type R Sub. Must say, this setup sounds amazing!!!
Unfortunately, in Canada, we do not have the option of pairing Mark Levinson with the F-sport Package, so I had to settle for the premium audio. Personally don't think the Mark Levinson would have even been worth it.
My brother and I tackled the install on our own. Wasn't too hard, just very time consuming. Took about 4hrs from ripping the panels off, to putting them back on.
The setup includes:
12' Alpine Type R
500 watt Alpine 1 channel
IOX high power line-out convertor
IOX 1.5 Farad capacitor
I tapped into the factory subwoofer signal via the factory amp. The sub sounds very clean and goes really well with the rest of the cars audio.
For those of you looking to install a aftermarket sub into your GS....
DO IT!!!

I had a "what the hell is that" moment when I saw the capacitor. I don't think I've ever seen or heard of one used in a sub setup. Looks (and I'm sure sounds) good!

Nice looking box. You should research how much voltage drop is produced with capacitors and their actual capacitance. They're mostly cause more harm than good, get rid of it
