It looks like in the UK, the GS already has 3D maps? What's going on here?

That's because of your ridiculous import taxes. We have these taxes here as well but not as insane as yours.
Some countries in Asia have 300% tax on import. I'm not kidding. Cost of the car is same besides some small updates.
In Canada we pay more them Americans but we don't have 3d maps or enform or an option to call Lexus services for help. We don't have flaxen option instead saddletan. But all cars come standard with bigger battery because of our colder winters and auto close trunk.
What I personally love about U.S Lexus you can pick each and every option individually. I would give up auto trunk for having this feature in Canada but NOPE. Lexus here forces repackaged options down our throat.
Here is an example a simple option such as parking sensors (value $500) only comes with the top package which costs $80k CAD.

I don't think the color of the leather is any different that the US F-Sport edition. At the start of the video you can see its Cabernet.
The folding mirrors I can do without, heck our parking spaces in the US are condos compared to what I've experienced in the UK. I would have liked the powered trunk lid, and still on the fence with 3D maps.

Toyota will leave things out and save things for the upcoming years with new designs.
Toyota probably figured a new interior and body change was enough for a first years sales and adding things later to draw more buyers.
Look for many added items and improvement in the mid year recycle model with the '15 or '16 model or earlier if sales stay low.

I was at a `Know Your Car`presentation at the my dealer this week. There was an extensive Q & A session, I got a chance to have a 1 on 1 with the Lexus rep. I asked him about 3D maps, but more importantly about why major Canadian national and regional chains are omitted from the nav, as well as the lack of Lamisafe on the side windows. He gave me a very reasonable answer. He said Lexus Canada negotiates and `buys` their inventory, there just is not a volume of business in Canada to leverage a low enough price on certain options. He said California is a much larger market than the entire Canadian market so the American consumer gets a wider choice and lower prices. makes sense to me. Although I still want to find the nearest Longos fruit market and I can`t, I make do with my headlight jets.
BTW the fully loaded model in Canada is $68,850.00 and if you are an Albertan you can probably get it less than that. Now if you live in Ontario, our provincial govt. will add $9000 in taxes to the bill and you should see what they spend it on!
