i get constant dropouts on my 2014 gs350 fsport with 3300 miles. i called sirius and was told to resend the signal. it's no better. my dealer service advisor told me she'd talk to the 'electronics expert' at the dealership to see if there was a software update but i didn't hear back. the sat radio didn't drop like this in my audi a7 and it doesn't have problems like this in my wife's a6 nor my son's vw cc. has anyone here found a solution to this or does lexus just have crappy satellite radio?

I had satellite (Sirius) in both Audis and now have XM in both Lexus cars. I am experiencing many more drop outs with the Lexus cars. I've driven the same route to work for the past 4 years and in the Audi there was just one spot where satellite would drop, on the same route with either Lexus there is 6 different spots where there are drop outs. I'm basically experiencing drop outs way more no matter where I drive. Dealer said this is not a known problem. I called XM yesterday and they refreshed the system (sent a signal) to no avail and told me it could be because XM and Sirius use 2 different satellites.

Was curious if anyone else has been experiencing this problem and had it fixed? My next step is to have Lexus service make sure there are no malfunctions with the system but my gut tells me nothing can be done and it is what it is.

Thoughts?
MY 2009 LS-460 recently started dropping XM Radio MOST the time......just wouldn't come on. XM refreshed it several times to no avail. I finally took it to the dealership and they have FINALLY decided it might be the antannae and have ordered one. Will have had their loan car a week this Thursday. IT may end up being the module instead of the antennae but hey, their 2015 ES-350 drives fine. Besides, I have the Lexus Platinum Extended Warranty so I should be out NOTHING on this repair. I hope you got yours resolved. Their 2015 ES-350 works GREAT under huge trees and other objects, just like my LS-460 used to. Good luck.

There is a TSB for a faulty antennae on the GS, but I believe it was for FM not XM.

I got the two month free trial after I got my used 2013 GS350, and the first day I used it I noticed how frequent the drops were. It was a cloudy rainy day and I was on a highway with thick trees on either side and it was dropping constantly for a few miles. It was particularly bad that day and on that route, but I continue to notice pretty frequent drops on a regular basis.

I have been in/driven several relatives' cars with XM and it doesn't drop anywhere close to as much. Definitely something with this particular car.

Yes mine drops too when there are thick trees, under a bridge, and going into a basement parking lot. This thing is super sensitive so if ur not in a wide open area the XM is useless.

i have a 2009 LS-460 and mine started dropping just for the the fun of it. They finally diagnosed it as a bad antennae at the dealership. Thank GOD I had an extended Lexus Platinum Warranty. It would have cost me $1,100 bucks. Works like a charm now and no drops.Good as new. As I've said again and again, I wold not drive a Lexus around the block if I didn't have a Lexus Entended Warranty on it. This is OVER $6,000 i RECOVERED IN REPAIRS, after paying less than $1,800 for the Warranty from Toby Rivers at Bosier City/ Shreveport Toyota and Lexus. He sells Lexus Platinum Extended Warranties CHEAP.

The only time mine has ever dropped out is [sometimes] when I'm backing out of the garage - it will sometimes drop-out when the car is halfway out of the garage and only for about 1-2 seconds.

Well, when your antenna is busted, it will drop TOTALLY ! Lexus Fixed it, it works fine now, even in my garage. I posted what was wrong, but some may not have seen it. BAD ANTENNA !

I have no experience with the GS, but my IS F with ML drops out very easily around anything slightly blocking LOS. I figured this was normal until I had a 2015 Chevy Cruz as a rental recently which would NEVER drop off. I could be stopped at a light under an overpass and it would work just fine. After that I thought it was just older tech in my 2010 versus the newer Cruz, but last week I had a 2015 ES350 as a loaner and it had the same sensitive reception as my F. The radio did sound better to me than my ML though
