Just keep the car highly waxed and always use clean materials.
This is true, but on my silver car who cares if there are swirls because nobody can see them. Thats the point. I am an avid enthusiast detailer and I've had all manner of dark colored cars, even if you keep your washing regimen perfect, it still goes to the dealer and they forget your no wash request and wash it. Its gets brushed up against in a parking lot. The dark color is a commitment, one that I am happy to be rid of for a while quite frankly.

As to not washing the car...what do you do when its dirty? That might work in CA if you are in an area that doesn't get much rain, or if you don't drive much and it sits in the garage every day. For those of us that live elsewhere, and who drive our cars several hundred miles a week in traffic and in weather...they need to be washed.

- Why would you put a down payment on a lease?
- Would you put a $2500 down payment on your apartment to reduce your monthly rent?
- Can you do the Multiple Security Deposits?

To lower my monthly payments
From your question, you wouldn't add money to a lease ?

From what I understand, Multiple Sec Deposits only help people with poor credit/scores etc.
with the .005 money factor, it will not help much (not sure myself)

.005 * 2400 = 12% APR.

Based upon a 12% APR, I am pretty sure that your credit score is very weak.

I'm not sure what you mean or how you got 12%
the .005 is set, by the dealer for the current lease deal for June
My credit score was not run by the dealer but is close to 780

Add, Called dealer and he told me the .005 equates to a 1% interest rate

The money factor is a decimal that when multiplied by 2400 gives you an interest rate. Clarify with the dealer, I'm sure its .0005 not .005. Thats 1.2%. A MF of .005 is a 12% interest rate...which is terrible.

As for the downpayment. All a downpayment does on a lease is prepay lease payments. Should the vehicle be totaled you would loose that prepaid rent, and you aren't really saving any interest on that money. Leasing a car is just renting a car, if you can't do multiple security deposits, just keep your $2,400. The MF is so low, I'd keep my money even with the MSD.

I would never put $1 down on a lease.

The MF is 0.0005. If you put down 5 security deposits the interest would be zero
