Default Yellow Wheel on Obsidian ...

Ran over something on the freeway this morning and ruined my day.

Original tires are expensive for our car ... almost $400 at the dealer and about $340 from Tire Rack! More motivation to switch over to 20". The side skirt is almost $500 alone and wheel well liner is about $150. I'm thinking of going though insurance for the damages and having them change out the side skirt instead of repairing it.

TPMS functioned flawlessly. Indicator light came on quickly after I heard the noise. I started moving out of the fast lane and switched DISP to view tire pressures and it was going down fast. Luckily, I had enough time to get off the freeway to change the tire out.

Not too bad looking. I'd go with a larger wheel size though lol. That really sucks man. It's comforting to know that the tpms displays data in real time as opposed to updating every few minutes.

Yep .. definitely real time. Another plus .. the remaining 3 sensors continued to operate and display current pressure while the spare was running on the car.

Sorry to hear this man. I know you care for your car more than the average. I'm glad the TPMS worked and the wheel is OK. Maybe it gives you a reason to upgrade to 20. I'm interested too but at the same time, I read alignment/rubbing problem here and there which kind of makes me wonder if I should just leave the car alone. I would hate to have to bring the car in/out for service and adjustment. Keep us posted if you make the switch and hope she'll back original soon.

PS: For a second, I thought you were getting yellow wheels! But it does look kind of cute.

Well glad to hear u got off the freeway safe and no more damage happened!! Sucks that u have to repair the car!! But yea, I'd go thru insurance, get new parts lol!! Also get 20s, it makes the car look better, lol. But to each his own!!

Bnlexus- if u get the right setup, u won't have rubbing/alignment issues. I have vossens cv3s in 20s on my GS and I have had no problems with rubbing or alignment!!! The ride is same as stock but the tires I have last so long!!! Over 20k miles on them now and they still look new!! Not alot of wear on them!!! But it's up to u to upgrade, it's ur car!!! Lol

Ouch, that sucks to see! Best of luck getting it all fixed and straightened out! If you're considering 20's, we've got plenty of styles that will fit, and we've got the offset/width/tire specs to help, even if you don't go with Vossens. Glad to see you didn't put 4 yellow wheels on that sexy, new GS though!

LOL I was thinking the same thing when I read the post. I am loving the color of the GS in your post too. Its like a Coca Cola brown.

Hmm, an Obsidian GS would look good with bronze or gold wheels...
