Should I ask them to change out the Dunlop's? I have been a Michelin fan for years and I think if I want to change now is the time to do it? Thoughts?

Can't speak for the Dunlops but the Michelin Primacys are sure-footed in snow, rain or the dry and are smooth and perform.

I have not had Dunlops since I was riding my Canadian Tire Supercycle as a kid.

You can try, they might balk at it though. Tires for this car run about $1,200.

I have the Dunlops on mine, and while the tire/road noise is a little more than I would like, the ride is acceptable.

Still, it ain't gonna hurt anything to ask if they will swap for a set of Michelins...Depending on how much you want to switch them, you might offer to pay the difference between the Dunlops and the Michelins.

Of course, that would not be my opening offer!

I have Dunlops too. I don't have complaints but wonder how the Michelins feel like. My Dunlops on my runner wore a lot faster than these. I have put about 9K on this GS but the treads still look good. Anyway congrats and enjoy when you get the car.

Puckhead,
You're getting yours this weekend, right?

I did just that when I got my GS350 3 months ago. There was another GS on the lot with Michelins on it. I just told them to swap them onto mine. Because I did this after the deal was done, they charged me $100 labor. Pretty petty I thought, but worth it.

I would absolutely do it. Since these tires are so expensive, you don't want okay, you want the Michelins so you can avoid replacing tires as long as you can.

I have 11,000 miles on the Dunlops and love them. I've Run Michelins for years but if I get good mileage ill consider either brand

I drove the car on both and thought the Michelins made the car noticeably quieter...

I did. picked it up Satruday, unfortunately I've been swamped with work so I haven't really gotten a chance to enjoy her let alone drive her. I've been glued to my computer Not to mention on Friday, I walk out to my ES and see a huge crack on my windshield.
I'll post up pics if it ever stops raining!

I had Michelin pilot super sports on mine. I plus sized them one and they have a 30,000 mile guarantee. These are so quiet, traction is amazing and the cornering unparalleled. Dump the bridgestones. Many have said road noise hits those quickly and I ended up doing the swap for no out of pocket. Just an FYI.

Did you purchase the Michelin Pilot Super Sports or did the dealer swap them out?
