Default Opening Sunroof

Has anyone realized when opening the sunroof, it stops a good 3 inches from the stop location? To open it fully, you have to press the open button a second time. I never noticed until today.

Its kind of hard to tell in the pics, but here they are nonetheless.

Mine stops an inch or so from the full open position. I almost always drive with the moonroof open, and had never noticed that.

It does that because of sound. If all your windows are up and you open it all the way, the sounds is really bad. My previous Avalon did the same thing.

Really? An inch makes that much of a difference? I would have never guessed!

Yeah, its to stop the helicopter sound effect when windows are all closed. Neat feature in my book.

Most ever car has this same calibration. I open it fully only if I have the back window cracked.

I never noticed this. Thanks for posting. My other car has a pop up leading edge wind deflector to reduce the wind buffeting noise.

I'd say yesterday was maybe the third time opening the sunroof since I usually tilt also. It was sunset and the weather was perfect so I opened everything up, including the engine.
