Default 4GS Chassis can handle a lot more power

Seems to me the 4GS chassis can handle A LOT more power than we have. I can feel it on the curves that the chassis is begging for more but the engine merely agrees to the flogging.
I am almost certain that Lexus would put out an updated 4GS with more power. I mean why stiffen the chassis by 33% on the 4GS and keep the old powerplant? What are your thoughts?

I wonder if Lexus would not drop the V8 GS460, how many would actually buy it?

I think the reason why we didn't get a better transmission (8 speed?) was because they plan on making a GS-F. I would like to see something like mid to high 4s for HP

I know I would, that's pretty much exactly what I want. The only reason I'm even considering other cars (BMW 5-series, Mercedes E-class) is the availability of V8 engines.

However, sales volume indicate differently.....on whether people will actually buy a V-8. And when it comes down to it, it's always about $$$$

The Chassis is based off of a modified MK4 Toyota Supra chassis, no surprise.

I would guess sales volume would be under 100 units a month...

A V6 engine pump out 360 to 380 HP would be ideal for an GS and attract more customer IMO.

It would attract enthusiasts, but probably not enough so to justify the cost of R&D. I believe this is why IS-F production ended ... sales weren't high enough?

And a re-tooled IS-F would have also been quicker than a GS-F with the same motor too.

Regarding the competition, I doubt the Audi S6, MB E500 and BMW M5 are profitable either, HOWEVER it is easier to get aftermarket support for Audi A6, MB 350 and BMW 5 series.

I'm just being realistic and not expecting a GS-F and would be just as happy if the GS has better aftermarket support.

From what I was reading about it was only patented in the US, GS-F. It wasn't patented else where. If they were to be coming out with a GS-F wouldn't they patent it elsewhere also o.o? Just a question not making a statement Le anything haha

That's true!

But Lexus will lose some customer to M5, E AMG....

I don't think those customers would have ever looked at the GS
