Nice, I told her your comment. Appreciate it dude.
Thanks T
Awesome, glad you got to try out the Dragon, it truly is one of a kind. Yup we used to go back in the day and a modded 2GS could hold its own, stock was uhh not so good lol.
Mahn I'm still all over the map for a new ride, I've never been like this before. Usually its a GS. Well she has a GS lol... M3 is a clear winner in my book as well.
Thanks T
Blue, car looks great!
I did The Dragon last year on my way back from St. Louis, first time....kind of on a whim. I have a friend in Tennessee who lives an hour away. We went to The Dragon together, me in my 2001 modded 2GS (260,000 miles and I'm still driving it all over the country - gotta love Lexus!)....and he has a new 550i. And he invited his buddy in his BMW Club who has an 2011 M3 who met us there.
We spent the afternoon doing multiple runs back and forth, switching cars. Of course, the M3 felt the best.....feeling very light on its feet and real easy to toss around with confidence. I fell in love with the M3 during The Dragon. So easy to drive fast, quickly, with confidence. And that engine sounds glorious when spinning in its upper registers.
Ironically, we all concurred that my ol' GS felt better on all those crazy turns than that noticeably heavier 550i (even in Sport suspension setting). Yes, my suspension is heavily modded with sways, Tein, EDFC, spacers and sport control arms. My buddy's 550i is just stock on 19s.
But my GS was just far more tossable than that 550i. The hood is so big and the driving position is not built for that kind of driving. It's a great engine, but my suspension felt better....and we all agreed. My GS would stay planted and when it did slide a bit, it was controllable and easy to modulate. That 550i was a little scary on those tight turns, and you always felt like you were one bad steering correction away from disaster.
So, for me, it's coming down to the new 2013 IS350 Sport (can't wait to test drive it!), and a 2012 M3. Decisions, decisions...

They are RS*R "down" springs, so a 1" drop, "super down" are 2".
Tires are Nitto Invo
245/35/20
285/30/20
No rubbing issues at all and the car has rear steer.
Wheels are 20x9 +32 and 20x10.5 +45
First pic is going up the Dragon...freaking Corolla slowing me up.. notice the HUD in the pic
2nd pic at the scenic lookout on top the Dragon
3rd pic after slaying the Dragon the first time
4th pic is of the interior we love so much
5th pic IMO came out good with the rocks...classic color combo
When the pics from Killboy upload I'll buy them and post up...

Thanks

Hey Blueprint...I am looking to do the same setup as you with the RS*R down springs and putting some Vossen wheels on. (I also have rear wheel steering). Do you get any rub on the rears at the 285/30/20 ?? If you "did", then did you have to roll the fenders in the rear to get them to not rub? I am seeing that some people say there is rubbing and they ended up going with 275/30/20...just wanted to check in with you since it looks like you put the car to the test on some sharp turns and bumps...
Thanks!!
Thanks!!
