Default Any new news on 2014 GS models?

I figured as we are likely at the 3/4 mark for the current year model, leaks might be springing up about the new revision. 8 speed tranny seems the most likely upgrade, whereas most other features I'd expect to remain the same.

Does Lexus usually delete features between model years or only build upon. Reason I ask is on my last car, VW, the manufacturer loved to release a feature rich car and trim options out each following year to make the cars more "affordable". Lexus doesn't seem to present this mentality, but other longtime owners would know better than most.

I don't see an 8 speed. Its too new for that big of an upgrade. ( I could be wrong but it seems like a huge update) And also my car is going to be a late 2013 so I'm hoping they done
The only thing I see is adding the power trunk to the US version.

Only the 2014 RWD IS is going to receive the new 8-speed automatic. The AWD variants will continue to use the older 6-speed. This means no matter what happens with the 2014 RWD GS the 2014 AWD GS will continue using the same transmission it does for 2013.

I'd bet the GSFS gets the 8spd for '14 for a variety of reasons:

The ISFS gets it

The RXFS has it

The LS has it

Many of the GS competitors have it

CAFE's ever tightening #'s

It will not only help mpgs but performance keeping it on par or ahead of its rivals

The 8 spd should give the same perf gain as about +/- 20 hp increase

I think that extra +3 HP came from the weight reduction

I don't believe engine HP is rated by vehicle loss or gain in vehicle weight..An engine's HP is what it is.

So the thoughts on the 8 speed tranny are that it gives a horsepower increase? That's interesting as I'd like to know how one equates that part to performance other than fuel economy.

I know from the RX 350 F Sport we have with the 8 speed, it is a nice drive. Fuel economy, still breaking the engine in at only 300 miles on the car so far.
