Wheel (and tire) decisions!

For those who lowered their cars about an inch. They are barely noticeable. I'm sure if you decide to increase your total wheel/tire circumference by 2%, and if you stay with 19in wheels, that gap will look even less. More importantly, you retain the suspension that Lexus engineers worked many hours to make it just right. I mean the shocks and springs were tuned together as a unit. When you start changing one of them they are not the same anymore. Not to mention you'll wear out your $300+ shocks significantly faster with your lowered springs.
So yeah, unless I see something I really really like I'm leaning back toward stock height.

one thing i've noticed, when a car has OEM wheels on it, like the stock f-sport wheels, you don't really say that it needs a drop, but as soon as you swap the wheels, a drop is needed. this applies to all cars not just the GS.

+1 on this.
Sometimes I think many of us are taking this fender gap thing a little too far. We lower our cars thinking it'll look sportier. Well I can tell you both my Corvettes have fender gaps just as big if not bigger than the GS and no one will deny that the corvettes are sporty.

And I won't blame you
My '01 Z06 with CCW 18x10F 19x11R running 275/35 and 305/30. It was lowered by 2 inches. With inverted Pfadt shocks the ride was smoother than stock. Although getting in and out of driveways was another story

I weighed the Work Emotion CR Ultimate "Kiwami" 19" x 8.5" wheels using a bathroom scale. The reading was 23.2 lbs. or 10.4 kg. The scale is accurate down to 0.2 lb. or 0.1 kg measurements.

Post some pictures when you're done. They look great almost like Niche Targa that I'm interested but with 19". I don't plan/want to lower the car so this may be the choice. What color did you pick? Matte Black and GT Silver look great in the pictures. Wonder how they look in person and on the GS.
