What made you get the GS?

From another thread I posted:
The reasons we got the GS-FS vs the 535 M Sport are as follows:
The GSFS is so smoooooth...it glides. The MSport does not
The GSFS's engine is like an electric turbine at idle, so smooooth
The GSFS doesn't need stop/start to acheive advertised city mpg's
The GSFS does not need turbos to get to its 305 hp
The dash in the GS is so much nicer and leather stitched
The leather in the seats of the GS is very supple...the BMW's standard leather is not
The front end and rear of the GS is nicer
Infotainment center is superior
The new Command Lease Program is very strong and 27 mos leases are back with great incentives
Pluses for the M Sport
The M Sport rims are nicer (no brake dust graphite color)
It has the 8 speed
Fac maint is included
Probably much easier to mod and get lots more power out of, but those days are now gone for me
The foot sensor for the truck auto open/close is great

The exterior styling, the features the car has, plus my wife's experience with her RX350, all guided me away from the Infiniti M I was considering and to the GS350.
I just get a smile on my face every time I go into the garage!

Exactly the same reason why I got the GS350 in February 2012. Both the BMW 528xi and 535xi had tight seating and really didn't ride that well. I was not impressed at all with the Audi A6 and was concerned about the hyper aggressive pricing they were offering on it. I suspect the Audi will depreciate rapidly....
The GS350 AWD is a very nice riding car and handles REALLY well. What really impresses me is the tight turning radius....as good if not better then the 328xi I traded it in for......

I always wanted Lexus build quality and reliability, but sided with my heart and bought bmw for performance, looks and road feel.
The GS350 fsport finally ticked all those boxes for me. I looked at 535i and A6 too, GS350 drove better, looked better (in fsport gear) and most important felt better. Oh and it was less expensive!

Excited about my new baby
Bought my first Lexus this past Wednesday 2013 ES300h, Fire Agate Pearl with Parchment leather interior . I love driving my baby, around town and on the highways, handles like a dream with plenty of torque power for me. 40 cents less a gallon regular fuel instead of premium plus more mpg) and my first tank did 639 miles.
Having an impossible time trying to get my garage doors sync'd up and I'm a long way from feeling comfortable with the technology.

A couple of years ago when we got our RX400h hybrid I took her to the Acura dealer and my wife couldn't get past the looks of any of them. She has amazing taste to me so I could understand why she didn't want to drive a beak. Didn't help that the staff was quite arrogant and talking "technology blah blah blah" until the very end when I explained the car we arrived in was a GS 450h that Acura has no answer for and that is REAL technology It got real quiet then We and I don't know anyone personally that considers them, but I see it on the internet lol.
Initially she was leaning toward a RX 350 F-sport to replace the RX 400h but the deals on the GS were immense and I'll never forget her face when she saw the GS interior with the Cabernet leather for the first time "I have never seen anything like this before". She fell in love with the interior.
Our dealership Hennessy Lexus of Gwinnett are incredible. We used to take her Altima there for service when we first met. She was blown away by how they treated her and of course the upscale nature of the dealership. The people there are just amazing and take great care of her. The buying experience was almost a joke, we ate food, laughed it up and she loved her 2nd buying experience there.
We were in the car over the weekend and she started talking about how she loves how fast it is and she loves her car. So I'm happy to know she loves it and its not just me

For me it came down to the whole lexus line up. All the german cars were out, don't feel like dealing with QC. The IS is way too small. I have an ES now, and while its a great car, (no offense) Its an old person's car. The '13 looks much better then my 04 now, but I still feel like every time I see one, I see a 50+ women driving it. The LS is way too much for me. It's an awesome car but I would feel funny driving around in almost $100,000 car at my age (27)...When this generation RX was revealed I really like it, It was sporty-ish and practical and the hybrid got good MPG. When the F-sport was announced I loved it even more. I may have even gotten it but I felt like it was outdated and in two years it was going to be replaced with the next generation.
So I basically was left with the GS. It fits the bill perfectly for me. As a daily driver, its awesome, Plenty luxurious and sporty without it being too sporty, if that makes sense...
