I have tried regular car washing soap, and it doesn't seem to be able to do much to the spots on the chrome tips. I have sonax wheel cleaner, but am not sure if it will damage the coating on the exhaust tips.
yeah, he used optimum metal polish. car wash soap and sonax wheel cleaner will not clean and or remove the spots on your exhaust tips.

You have a really good reason to be mad at your brother Love the picture of the tire. It almost made you not want to drive off, didn't it? Looking really good, S. How is the new stuff compared to this one?

PS: I have a black GS with HB too but how come mine is not as good looking?

i wasn't mad at my brother BN... i was "LIVID". i was in a homicidal state for a week, but he has kids so i gave him a break. i was upset but what can you do other than not let this person touch or look at your car ever again. Phil and the guys at DD did do a great job. the 22PLE is holding up quite well, the real test is when this winter is over, with all the snow and salt and grit and grime. i applied a sealant yesterday (Sonax Polymer Net Shield) and it's raining non stop today. the beading is very good.

i would recommend you get a can of this stuff and a foam app pad, for your Obsidian. on top of the HB the extra protection is a +. your car looks great... cut it out.

i have no clue, but you can call Phil@DD and he might know someone. he's been in the detailing business for years so i'm sure he would know skilled detailers in different states.

Yeah, I thought the car was perfect after
the 22ple. Had no idea all that was there.
What a beautiful job!

Looks like they do a good job. I bet it isn't cheap.

The closeups of the wheel show none of the problems you had with them before they were refinished. Did the problem start showing up afterward?

i noticed the defects before Phil detailed the car. i would have changed them anyway, even without the defects.

Did you do it right after you bought the car? How frequently do you guys do this kind of job... I admit I'm naive, but why doing in it with a new car?

This is the same way my car looked under direct sunlight after using a car wash. I'm glad to see you had the same thing and it was able to be corrected. Can't wait to get mine done, is the hard body only good on black cars.

i waited a couple of months right before it got cold. i did it to protect the paint because i know that this Lexus paint is soft and on top of the car being Obsidian... i knew i had to do something. did not have this problem with the SP F Sport. your car should be properly detailed and protected twice a year unless you have OC 2.0 which is a permanent and more durable coating. HB and 22PLE are semi-permanent.

i call them car grinders. and yes that is what your car looks like after you run your car through a grinder. the car was perfectly polished (no swirls or scratches and HB was applied) because a body shop polished the whole car. when the bumper should have been their only concern. HB will look good on your car also, your car would be alot easier to maintain and the protection is a +.

Thanks for enlightening!
Mine is obsidian as well and I can clearly see it would benefit from this treatment.
The problem is: it takes many hours. What to do when I drop off the car- 20ml away from home? It can only be done if someone else comes along with another car...Unlikely ill do that. Or... Find a detailer in manhattan. Do you recommend anyone around here?
