I have an iphone 4, and a '13 GS. My phone works perfectly through bluetooth, but all of the sounds from my phone are muted - i can't tell when an email comes through; basically, it's silent because it's hooked up to the system. the phone rings, but not having an email beep from my phone is annoying. is there any way to have my phone's sounds on AND be connected through bluetooth?

Have you tried the usb port? I usually use it and all my sounds come through a little too well. i'm using a 4s iphone

Well I just found out that you can get emails with the new update, and if you register the iPhone in the system and allow if to be read on the screen it makes a sound a ding or says message.

How do you register it? I have it connected.....
