14GS would likely be in Fall.

So Sept/Oct as normal, the 13 MY run would be a very long one of a year and a half (feb '12-oct '13)?

I understand how Lexus probably
concured the early shifting managery
with 8 gears. Not sure how 8 gears
improves acceleration. Any help?

I swear if Lexus comes out with more hp on the 14 GS I'm gonna be pissed, cause I'm gonna have to go buy one.

Closer-spaced ratios allow the engine to remain within its "power band" during acceleration.

I hope so, although BMW is different I can say that the 8 speed usually is always hunting, I know a couple of IS-F owners that have complained about the 8 speed transmission. I'm pretty sure if it does happen people will complain, maybe 7 gears but I think 8 is to much for the this car.

I think Lex has had enough experience with the
8 spd by now to get it right, has anyone driven the rx fs or the new LS to see how it behaves with the 8spd?

Is the RX an 8-speed, I'm getting a loaner RX today as I will be able to test it.

We bought a 2013 RX F Sport and the tranny seems fine. Haven't gunned it and it doesn't seem to hunt. But it does seem to sip gas a bit more.
