Default GS500 F Performance - Why Not?

I just watched Kirk Kreifels video on the F performance and true Fs coming soon per Lexus at an event he was at in Florida with Lexus representatives. Why wouldn't they bring back the GS as a GS500 F performance and scrap the full blown F for maybe 15-20k cheaper? U think they would revive it at all with this more performance news from Lexus? Just doesn't make sense in an ES. What do you guys think.

GS sales had plummeted in recent years, and although we here all love the GS, and probably agree there is no better choice in the mid size luxury segment, we are in the minority. Lexus is not going backward.

In the early 90s my favorite car was the Acura Legend. I had two of them, and as Acura lost their edge and started producing ugly, boring cars I hoped they’d bring back the Legend. They didn’t. Same kind of thing.

They should have done this for the 2016+ model facelift but it will kill the GSF sales before it even come out.

A $90K GS F with missing basic luxury stuff just doesn't make sense. No power trunk, no rear shade, basic seat adjustment, and using a thicker version of the CT/RC steering wheel is no good. They should have used what the GS 350 has and dump the 5.0L V8 in it and call it GS 500 F Sport Performance.

I think Lexus finally realized their mistakes with the current F line, that's why they're doing the 500 F Sport Perf line now.

I would trade in my car in an instant if they made a GS with wireless carplay, a V8 and everything my current 15' F sport has. All I have ever wanted from the car is a liitle more power down low, and a v8 rumble...

I can say, unequivocally and without a doubt, that if Lexus had offered a GS500, there would be one in my garage.

Sometimes still miss the V8 in my old GS430...The V8 in a GS500 would have been enough "tech" for me to justify getting one

That old article/rendering below on Lexus Enthusiast gave us hope a few years ago - but sadly I don't think a V8 powered GS or even another GS will make its way back.

That last 2020 GS "Good Bye Edition" should've come as a 500 with a V8. Guaranteed will be sold out before it even released. But not at $90K though.
