Default GS450h review

Howdy all,

I spent two weeks with a '13 GS450 hybrid courtesy of Lexus press fleet (and hurricane Sandy) and was completely impressed with the car's combination of ride, power, quietness and high-tech options. I'd like to hear from owners and others familiar with the car about how your experiences with the GS hybrid have been

I have had the GS450h since July and have been quite happy with it. I never test drove the 350, so can't compare, but love driving the hybrid. It has plenty of power, and great gas mileage for that power. The car is loaded (someone else did not want their special order) and is by far the most comfortable car I have driven. From the luxury package seats to the bamboo trim, I am giddy every time I drive it.

From a cost perspective, it is doubtful that you will recoup the added cost of the hybrid through the gas savings. Getting the hybrid was a personal choice for me, not necessarily an economic one.

I've only had my 450h for a short time, but am blown away by it. As with Mgoblue96, mine is a fully loaded, orphaned unit. The cabin is a wonderful place to spend time, for driver and passengers alike. It's quiet, spacious comfortable and very refined. The drivetrain is excellent -- relaxed, but has a good bite when called to attention. Trunk space is surprisingly good, but I haven't had need to fill it, yet. I never get tired of the silence at stop signs or lights, and while driving in EV mode. Nor do I miss the frequent trips to the pump that were part of my past. If I had the chance to go back and do it again, I would still buy this car in a heartbeat. It's phenomenal.

I agree with the comment about the extra cost of the hybrid over the gas-only variants. For me, the decision to drive a hybrid is about using less fuel, full stop. The arguments about time to recoup the price difference, etc. miss the point.

Agree with every said above, the 450h is a all some car in every respect.
Hear in the UK we only get the choice off two engines, the 2.5 V6 witch I thought was slightly under powered and the 450h so the decision for me was easy, we are also fortunate to get the 450h f sport version. :-)
