Hi, what is a TSB? Is this a recall or something? I called the dealer and they had heard nothing about the brake issue. Did you just complain bout the brakes and they replaced them?

Default No ceramic brakes in sight!

UPDATE TO THE CERAMIC BRAKE SAGA. UNFORTUNATELY BENDIX DOES NOT MAKE THE CERAMIC PAD FOR THE F-SPORT REAR WHEEL DRIVE. A FEW MANUFACTURERS MAKE THEM FOR THE ALL WHEEL DRIVE BUT NOT FOR THE RWD... WTF!!

ANYWAY, PLEASE EVERYONE, KEEP YOUR EARS OPEN. I HAVE A CALL INTO A FEW MORE COMPANIES, BUT AM LOOSING FAITH FOR THIS SEASON

Default Help finding schematic of the brake pad

Can someone help find the schematic of the F-Sport RWD front brake pads? If I had this I will be able to compare to a few of the ceramic schematics I have on hand.

Is this what you are looking for?

On an unrelated note, I replaced my front F-Sport brake pads at the dealership and it cost me nearly $350. I'm assuming that's reasonable, right? I hope?

Hi, no this is just a part break down of the entire assembly. I need the measurement diagram for the pad alone.

Also, how many miles on your car? Just wondering why you would need a brake job so soon? Did you bring it in for a brake issue like a squeak or something and if so why did they not do it under warranty?

I have a little over 18,000 miles on it now. When I was there for the 20,000 mile maintenance my service advisor said the front brakes were at a level 4 of 10 and won't make it to the next scheduled service without rotor damage. My car was manufactured in 2/2012 btw. You think it was a bit early?

I think that is quite early. "Next scheduled maintenance" sounds like a scam to me as well. 4/10 could last you another year+! I am going in today for my brake inspection. I have approx 18k miles on mine as well and I already have deep grooves in my front rotors. No way I am going to sit still and let them tell me that is my fault! I will let you know how it goes.

Took mine in for the brake TSB on friday. They said they need to order the new pads and it won't get here until tuesday. Supposedly they will not be machining the rotors. Just switch them. I have 10k miles on mine. Hopefully this will stop the squealing. But I really can't wait to put some ceramic on the front. The brake dust is killing my wheels!

Default Ceramic brake pad update

Bendix (the company who makes make of the OEM brakes on the market) has the back ceramic Low Dust brake pads for the REAR WHEEL FSPORT. The part # is 1391. They are working on the fronts but no release date yet. Akebono is also working on a front set but no release date yet.

Noticed most of the 4GS's here are F-Sport's. Does anyone know if the issue is only prone to 4GS F-Sports? I just got my GS 350 and am surprised that there are hardly any break dust (was actually expecting the front to have it). Let me know guys.

I've had my new F-Sport for just a week and its already been washed 3 times! The brake dust is baaaaad! REminds me of our old IS350 that they issued the TSB on for brake dust...

Not that works well. There are a myriad of products out there that are supposed to stop it from collecting on the wheels, but they don't work.

I put a sealant on my wheels and it seems to me that it's a lot easier to wash off.
