Default Got my GS Today!..and a Question re: Phone/Email

Just picked up my 2013 GS350 AWD today! Black/Black with Premium, Performance Pkg; Intuitive; Blind Spot; Cold Weather and Navigation of course.

MSRP - $55,927; Selling Price (after Conquest and some Certificate): $52,500 - Lease price with everything rolled in (nothing out of pocket at all and first month payment by Lexus) is $585/mo for 36/mo. - 10K per year. Happy with the deal as the price without taxes (NY) per month would have been $510 or somewhere near there.

Been playing with all the technology (and not working like I'm supposed to) but have a question re: audio system reading email. Is there something that has to be set up for this or is it the same thing as reading texts, which it already does? Thanks - sure to have more questions, but can't wait to drive this at night and see how it lights up!

Congrats!!

have a question re: audio system reading email. Is there something that has to be set up for this or is it the same thing as reading texts, which it already does?
Your phone has to support the Bluetooth Messaging Access Profile for email text-to-speech to work. Go to www.lexus.com/MobileLink/ to check your phone's compatibility. Note that you are out of luck if you have an iPhone.

Assuming your phone is compatible and you already receive emails on your phone, just pair your phone to your GS via Bluetooth for this feature to work. Instructions for pairing your phone to your car are below, in case you need them (this is from the Lexus mobilelink website).

On the Navigation System
1. Press the "Menu" button.
2. Select "Setup"
3. Select "Bluetooth"
4. Select "Registered Devices"
5. Select "Add New"
6. Enter or confirm passkey if prompted by phone.
On the Phone
1. Select "Settings" from the main menu.
2. Select "Bluetooth"
3. Ensure Bluetooth is ON.
4. Select "Car Multimedia" from the list.
5. Enter the PIN or confirm the passkey shown on the vehicle display.
6. Select "OK" or "Pair" if necessary.
After the initial pairing is completed, and if applicable to your multimedia system, enable messaging features by accessing the phone's Bluetooth menu.
First, select the ">" symbol to the right of the paired multimedia system's name that is currently showing Connected, and turn on "Show Notifications".
Then, disconnect/reconnect the phone using the multimedia system's controls.

Thanks so much! Excited and everyone at work is commenting how much they love it as well - its a looker definitely! Thankfully I switched from my iPhone to Galaxy SIII so looks like it will work (at least the text portion). Thanks again!

Let us know how it works....I have the same phone, but haven't played with this feature yet.

Text to speech works fine for text messages, but it does not work for email, AFAIK.

Does your GS read out emails from your iphone to you, Syd? If yes, I'm eager to learn what you did to make it work...

My GS read out text from my iPhone and get an error on reply. Reading email definitely doesn't work.

you got me there... unfortunately it does not read my e-mails... but the funny thing is that sometimes i get the incoming message tone, however nothing pops up on the screen and when i get home and check my phone i have e-mails.

You got nice deal! I heard some ppl paying $650-$750 a month.
Thinking of to trade or sale my IS350 and get new gs.
