I hear ya - like lots of IS owners, I did this same thing to my non-F sport IS350 a few years ago. I'm sure you're happy with the new look!

got top grill from ebay, oem copy, lower grill is oem, and will have fit issues, i also totally snapped off two pieces of chrome trim that was screwed behind the bumper fml

thanks man, the first two step the same, i dropped like 3 engine cover pins in the engine bay, fml again, need to order more but for step 3 you have to remove like 6 more grill pins, and the two screws that i didnt see behind bumper.. then pulls off, and the chrome trim pulls off too...

If you had known about those two screws, would you have been able to get to them from the top to unscrew 'em?

to be honest, i would a took my chances and still napped them off!!!! the bottom horn on the chrome trim are loose, but still flush, i can silicon in down if i wanted, but ill let my son worry about that, its gonna be his, hehe!!

Umm you guys are doing something wrong you have to snap off 2 of the tabs of the actual grill to make it fit

Umm you Guys are doing something wrong. You have to snap off 2 tabs of the actual grill for it to fit

Default Mesh grill

I bought my grills off craigslist. To fit the bottom grill perfectly you have to cut off 2 of the tabs off the actual grill.

Someone mentioned doing this on the IS 2nd Gen forum to replace out the stock grill with the f-sport:

Anyone know if after removing the bolts and weatherstripping, if it would have been possible to leave the chrome trim in place and carefully push the original grille insert toward the engine bay to remove it?

U don't need any special place goto any body shop and they'll put it on for you.
