If you have an F-Sport you have fairly low profile tires. I have found over the years that low profile tires need more care in terms of checking the pressure.
okay let me be more specific. i don't take my car to lexus to check my tire pressure. i take it there so that they can correct the pressure in my tires and reset my TPMS monitor. i don't care what you did when you were 5 ("MY GOODNESS") if i feel my car needs to go to lexus then that's what i choose to do. you do you and i'll do me. simple. Have a good night.

I'll stick with my goodness. You go to all of that trouble to apply HardBody to your car but you are too lazy to maintain the tire pressure in your tires.

Every digital tire gauge I could find on Amazon for $20 or less was within approximately the same accuracy range. I do not have a high end gauge.

I would expect that someone who makes such claims about the greatness of TPMS accuracy would provide actual data to backup the comments (we learned to do this in 5th grade when writing book reports). This is a forum where people like to see actual data to backup such claims. We aren't a "VTEC, yo" crowd who uses duct tape and fleeting words to maintain our cars.

I'm sorry I hit a nerve with you.

As far as links, get off your butt and dig them up yourself. TPMS sensor spec sheets are widely available online and specific (in)accuracies of different gauges can be found in the stores where they are sold (most auto parts stores).

Does different tyre size affect the amount of air pumped into it? Like 17", 18" 19", 20" tyres, any difference? Coz all i see is u guys talking about the amount of tyre pressure pumped in but not talking about the size of the tyres. & how abt the profile of the tyres? Makes any difference? lower profile tyres pumped less as the side walls thinner? As i assume u guys already switched out the stock rims & tyres for bigger sizes like 19", 20"?

I can only speak from my personal experience. I have bought 2 of these gauges from Amazon and have used them extensively on 2 Lexus' and 1 BMW over the last 5 years.

Amazon Amazon

Both of these gauges have agreed exactly with the TPMS in my 2013 GS350. The literature that comes with the gauges states:

"Accurate to within 0.05 PSI, reading air pressure from 5-150 PSI in 0.5 pound increments".

I check tire pressures at least every 2 weeks and have never seen any discrepancy between these gauges and the TPMS. I am satisfied with the accuracy of both. I have no governmental studies or Congressional Committee studies to verify these results. It is just my personal experience. Your results may vary.

the tire pressure on the TPMS was 31 31 31 29 on cold.

the door jamb says 35 for front cold, and 36 for rear cold.

i set to 34 front and 35 rear cold to see how it rides.

what psi do you guys run?

I checked my tire pressure for the first time after the monitoring system said the right front was low. Per recommendations, I let the car sit overnight so that the tire pressure was measured cold. All tires save the right front were indicating about 31/32 psi. The offending tire was down to about 26. I reset all tires to 35 with a guage of known accuracy using a portable compressor. That was over a month ago and all four tires remain at 34/35 when cold. As you know, pressures will increase as heat gets into the tire but I am not sure by how much. Keep us posted on what you find out.

Is this a trick question ? I run the pressure that's shown on the door jamb. This means that when winter comes, I have to pump up the tires to bring the cold-tire pressure back to 35 psi.

Isn't the Lexus recommended tire pressure 33 cold on the GS?

Even if its few psi lower its not going to harm the car or tires. As long as you keep them balanced and avoid portholes. It will fluctuate with temperature so dont get too **** about it. Put extra air if needed.
