TLE is very close to lexus, they get a lot of info straight from lexus corp / engineering team. read through the article where they talk about the cover on the dash. initially they wrote leather, but it's later crossed out and replaced with nuluxe

Not all folks who buy upscale automobiles are fanatics like us. Makes sense that it's synthetic leather. Bottom line is that it still looks classy and way better than conventional dashboards.

All you have to do is touch the material to know its not real leather. Just touch it, compare it to the seats...theres your answer. For instance on my ES350 the armrests aren't real leather. All you have to do is touch them to know.

Sorry, somehow I made myself a bad guy here.
Just wanted to know for sure and I got mixed info.
Thought it was an interesting question.
Meant no "clear answers" from anyone at Lexus.
I also buy the blog more than the dealer.
I will continue to confirm.
Addendum: Lexus Enthusiast's Source;
Hi Mike,
The 2013 Lexus GS dash is NuLuxe -- I initially thought it was leather, but a senior Lexus executive emailed after reading my review and asked me to make the correction.
Hope that helps,*

There is ZERO... I repeat... ZERO possibility of that material being leather. Again, you can gather it in your hands, there is no "backing" or hide behind it, and leather will scar if you scratch it. This material is pretty indestructible.
Just put your nose to it and it smells of synthetic. Personally, I'm glad it's not leather. It won't dry out under the windshield and it can be dusted/wiped clean easily.

But after reading your 1st post, I went out to my car and tried to gather some material in my hand and was unable to do it. Mine fits very tightly like it should. If I could gather in my hands, I would be worried a bit.
