Default Purchase (Not Lease) Price and Competitive Discount

Hi All,

I am in the Chicago area and we are interested in a 2013 GS with the Premium package and basic options like Blind Spot Monitor, Cold Weather Package, 18" Alloy wheels, Nav and Accessory Package.

On Edmunds and KBB the MSRP is $55,607 with an Invoice cost of $51,568 including destination charges. This comes out to about a 7% discount. I sent internet requests to a number of dealers and the best I got back was $2,500 which included the $1,500 competitive rebate. We have a 2001 Acura CL that we are selling and I also have a 2004 LS 430.

I was wondering if anyone has actually purchased this car for 7% discount without a trade in and did anyone get the additional $1,500 rebate on top of the discount.

Also did you have to trade in your car to get the $1,500 or just have to own a competitor model?

I paid $500 under invoice, cash, no rebate, no trade.

I can tell you at least the conquest rebate should be applied whether you trade the competitor's vehicle in or not...

Got mine for $4,200 below sticker with no trade or rebate financed through my own credit union.

There have been numerous discussions saying that people are paying well under invoice. With the sales volume starting to pick up you should have no problem making a deal.

Don't mean to hijack this thread but does it give additional bargaining power if you use Lexus to finance instead of going with your own bank?

That's the best way to do it, send out email requests to all the dealers in your area. You get down to the real market price pretty quick.
