Default Summer/winter tires?

What are the best tires for summer on my gs fsport awd? How do the stock tires compare to what else is out there? My friend has a 2012 BMW 535 that seems to have wider tires. Is that possible on the fsport awd? How about winter? I live in Denver. Don't want studs. Should I get another set of rims, or just change tires each season?

Thanks!

If you mean the 2011 BMW 5 then yes I did do the same thing with my fsport AWD. I put the 245/40/19 Michelin tires on my fsport awd with no problem. It gives a lot better ride then those bidgestones.

Thx. I think the bridgestones are 235 40 19. Did you have to,get different rims? Was it a noticeably better ride?

No need for different rims. Stick with those nice stock 19 inch. Those standard tires are too narrow for this car and I cannot believe why they put that width tires when the older GS had 245 width on the 18 inch rims. The 19 inch rims with the 245/40/19 looks perfect and is what this rim should of come with as the rims have the width which are wide enough to take tires up to 255 base on the specs. Ride was alot more smoother and calmer on the highways without getting choppy and the car is more planted and more quiet. I would rate the bridgestones 4/10 whereas the michelins are 8/10.

Default Winter

I am looking at a winter / summer two tire wheel combo. There are not many winter tire choices are there? I only find Pirelli in the stock F sport AWD size. .
