On a serious note....I am with everyone else on this. WTF were they doing adding pinstripes. IMO...auto alterations like this this should be banned by Lexus corporate.
The longhorn? that is required by law

It's south Florida... I guess people write checks and don't ask.

I like Florida, I really do - visited a few times... but this is just WRONG...
CA is selling under MSRP (under Invoice at times), while FL is selling 5k over MSRP... sheeeeeeesh...

That's just WRONG! What the H___ is a "lifetime car washes package"? These guys sound like a caricature of an unscrupulous car dealer.

The only way the dealer could make things right in my opinion is by finding you another car.

unfortunately, the reality is, a repainted car de-values the car...

but on the up-side of things, if you bought your car from a reputable dealer that believes in customer service, they will re-paint the areas that need re-painting; for free. its considered LOT Damage, so the dealership has to pay for it.

swirls can be removed, scratches obviously not. i hope they dont try to touch it up with some cheap "As Seen On TV" product.

the only way i see the dealership replacing your car is if they're reallyyyyyy nice, or if you file some sort of lawsuit that proves they de-valued your car (so i would go take pictures NOW).... they can pay the de-valued difference, and give u a new car, and move your financed loans to the new car.

If you're in TX I'm assuming it was Sewell Lexus because they still put pinstripes on almost all their cars. They had a LP F Sport in their showroom with pinstripes the color of the Cabernet interior. I thought I had hyperspaced back to the 70's.

When I ordered my GS they gave me a list of options like pinstripes and nitrogen in the tires. I told them I did not want the pinstripes. I also called them when the car had arrived and said "no pinstripes" just in case they forgot.

If you asked specifically for no pinstripes they should be ethically bound to give you another car if they messed up the order and damaged your car trying to correct it. Then again, If you bought with pinstripes and asked them to take them off that might be another story. I know Lexus paints on their pinstripes so I can imagine removing them is quite a chore.

They said they reapplied the clear coat and did everything to factory specifications, how long does this last before I start to see the swirl marks or scratch again or will it ever see again?

I was in the Dallas dealership yesterday and didn't see any pinstripes on any of the cars on the floor.
I almost never see pinstriped cars at Sewell Dallas.

So only the clear coat was scratched? If so, it's not so horrible but it honestly sounded as if the paint was scratched past the clear coat in your OP. hopefully they removed any scratches/swirls prior to the clear coat they added b/c I believe if they painted the clear coat over existing scratches, you may not be able to get them out (they will be beneath the clear coat). Either way, best of luck with this predicament
