Angry Dash rattles/other issues

Got a brand new 2013 GS350 fsport. 2 weeks in, dash rattles. Dealer pulling whole thing out, says no big deal. Bluetooth connectivity issues, android connectivity doesn't work Dealer says wait on new app. What a POS. Any ideas?

I also had a rattle that sounded like it was coming from the left dash / forward part of the door. I isolated it to the plastic cover below the drivers knee airbag. There is a part that goes forward to the firewall inline with the hood pull lever cable that is completely unsupported at the firewall. (removal is 3 screws and 2 press clips but be careful, a lot of electronics are attached to it (but not the airbag itself)

What I theorized was that that piece was either tapping on the hood release cable or it was the scratching sound of the unsupported piece agains the left vertical floor carpet.

In any event, I simply drilled 2 small holes in the end of the panel and zip tied it to a bracket above where I placed the holes and I have not heard a sound there since.

Now I hear a new one... the seatbelt adjuster mechanism. I'll tackle that next week.

Maybe what I describe is similar to your problem. I heard the same sound in 3 cars I drove including the one I bought, it was persistent and from day one.

Thanks. My rattle sounds like it comes from the right side of the center consol. When the service tech opened the glovebox during a test drive it got louder.

I'm surprised and not happy a car in this category even has these issues. My real concern is that they pull the dash, it's quiet for a few weeks, and something else crops up.

I guess Lexus engineers didn't learn hard lesson from 3GS dash rattle/noise.

If they can't fix rattle after few times, contact Lemon Law lawyer. That the way Lexus will learn their lesson.

I saw many of LS & GS buy back/lemon car for having vibration/rattles/brake noise issue.

I guess I have been fortunate as I did not have these rattle issues in my 3GS or 4GS. So it's certainly not all of them.

I don't know if I'd feel too comfortable having the dash pulled for one, and for two at least not until they've have confirming info from Lexus on the exact source of the noise from other cases and a specific fix. Car's too new to let them go exploring. Taking out the glove box is ok to see if the rattle can be isolated though; just my .02

Damn I was hoping the 4GS wouldn't have any issues with the rattling like the 2IS does!

I've heard most 4GS buyers not having this issue. So would not be quick to judge based on one report...

OP, it's unfortunate about your rattle and I agree with the idea to work with your dealership to fix. This is not the norm. As to phone and Enform issues, definitely the product has room for improvement. More of a beta product...

Agreed, and I would hardly say a rattle and poor Bluetooth connectivity qualifies a car as a POS.
