2013 GS Subwoofer
Just got my new GS F sport, but no ML. Looking to install a sub. Not sure how big to go. I'm 30 and don't want to bump like a teen, but want nice clean bass. Any ideas on what brand and power to go with?

It depends, how much trunk space your willing to give up and how much ur willing to put out? Since everything is supposedly sound damped throughout the car, it would take a bit more to travel through the back seat because it is sealed off from the trunk.
But if your going for quality sound then a sealed box would be a choice to make because u can have a smaller box compared to a vented one.
On my sound car i have digital design "DD" 9500 with the DD M3 amps, its higher quality brand it cost a bit up front but u can always send it in to have it re-sized from 10"s to 18"s if you want or vice versa
In my car i would give up an ample amount of trunk space, and go with 2 or 3 8"s in a 2.75 or 3cf box tuned to 35hz, or one 12 in a 2.5cf box tuned to 32hz. but also it depends on type of speaker and how close the speaker would be loading off of your trunk wall.
but a sealed setup would be ideal and simpler.

honestly, i dont know. because i dont know how difficult it is to tap into the factory amp and the whole installation . but 1k would get you a pretty good quality single sub and amp setup.
ddaudio, FI's, soundstream, RE. would cost you a bit more, but powerbass 2xl is actually pretty good, along with diamond audio d6 models or higher. i wouldnt waste money on JL, to me its not worth the price for something u can get cheaper without paying for the JL brand.
but i believe two 12's diamond d6 for a budget setup, it would be a bit over due But ull be happier with the setup by giving you the ability to turn it up for that extra kick when u want to get noticed
