So I just bought a 2011 GS and some Vossen wheels. I'm planning on getting the '14 or '15 GS when the time comes for another car. Would the wheels on the 3GS fit on the 4GS?

That's very odd; this means that the staggered rear wheel sits a tiny bit more inboard than if you used the front wheel on the rear. In other words, the 19x8 +45 at all four corners actually fits the rear about 2mm more aggressively (closer to the fender) than the 19x9 +60 F Sport wheel. DUMB!

Of course, the rears are very weak and can surely take a more aggressive offset.

i was thinking the same thing but didn't want to post anything. apparently anything negative i post about the car would be blown out of proportion.

i wonder if it's a typo or so, it's really silly if they have a staggered setup but then the rear sits more inboard compared to if using the front wheel.

Yeah its too safe of an offset. I mean there is still some room based on this...

My guess for the high rear wheel offset was the space left over by the revised rear suspension design and room for movement with Dynamic Rear Steer. There is a larger trunk thanks to this revised rear suspension design:

Not a typo at all... The 19x9 rear wheel is indeed stamped 60+ offset...

It's a slighty conservative approach to adding the widest rear tire size Lexus has ever run on a sedan..

265/35/19

It's really NOT a big deal when you think about it..
It is ONLY 1/5 th of an inch less aggressive than the IS-F rear wheel.. 19x9 w/55+ offset..
(1/5 th equals 0.19685 inches or simply 0.20 inches )

For what its worth, the current IS-F only runs a 255/35/19 tire... I'm sure that will now have to change for the 3rd Gen IS-F.

i am not saying it's a big deal, but given the freedom of staggered, you kind of want to push out the rear more "possibly"

I meant that "Generally Speaking"

.. and I do agree..

The 19x9 F-Sport Rear wheel wheel could have easily been a 55+ offset.. (just like the IS-F)

With the active tire pressure monitoring system, how would a different set of rims affect the TPMS?

you will either need to transfer the tpms over, or you get a new set and program that into the system.

of course you can forget about tpms and get a warning light on dash

That's right..!!

And it's been Officially 100% Confirmed that you CAN NOT add or register a 2nd set of TPMS sensors..

What if you swap the 18" rims from the premium to the 19" rims from the F Sport...both OEM rims...would that work?

..how would I get the system to "learn" the new TPMS?

You need to bring it into Lexus to have them reprogram the TPMS.
