My Lexus is home now. I felt better crossing the mountain passes knowing I had the Chipprotect in place. The Dealer did a nice job on the installation- I can barely detect it. The door edges are protected, as are the door handles and trunk access point. I think I would have gone with a cheaper non-dealer product except I want to be in a position to demand excellent repair work from Lexus should any chips occur. Thanks again for the advice.

I think this was more common when these films first came out...they are a lot better now.

Can anyone suggest a great place in seattle area to get this done? A place with a good deal but uses high quality product.

What about a place near burbank, CA? I am actually picking up a car near there and would like to get it before I drive back up to Seattle.

Thanks!

I was told just the other night by the detail mgr @ my Lexus dealer they switched to Xpel (from 3M) due to orange peel & fading issues.

Just fyi...

Did my 2013 with Expel and it's awesome. Saved the hood and bumper from two chips. Front bumper, 1/3 of the hood, full fender, mirrors, door edges, door handles, rear bumper by trunk section. The guy Lee Berbs did the job and it was awesome. Nice guy and perfectionist.

Thumbs down Chipprotect

DO NOT GET CHIPPROTECT. It begins to discolor after three or more years and still gets marks from stones then you cannot repair without damaging the protector. Had it on my GS 350 AWD 2007. Did not get on my 2013.
