Lexus GS350 F sport blazes through slalom at 69.7 mph
http://www.insideline.com/lexus/gs-3...full-test.html
IS F fast....I wanted to start a thread so we can talk about how amazingly good the GS F-sport seems to drive compared to not just only past GS's but the competition. We are basically now looking at possibly the sportiest car in its segment
Lexus/Toyota seems to have dusted off all those great engineers they had and brought them back to the forefront as each new debut seems to really kick some sport butt, Yaris included! What helps the GS F-sport so much is its lighter weight and size (mass) compared to everything else in class. Everything else has gained serious weight and size (length, height, width) and the GS has done a great job staying around the same weight as the 2nd generation even with such an increase in luxury and technology and features.
Having ridden in the car with Scott Pruett at SEMA I was blown away with how good it handled. Outside the LFA this is IMO the best handling Lexus. This is the fully loaded model with rear steer which is a CLEAR OPTION CHOICE if you really value the sportiest experience.
The media seems to mostly agree so far this is a great driving car and I hope they relay this message in future comparisons. That said its up to Lexus to show the world how much better this vehicle drives and with the Super Bowl commercial coming I hope that is the beginning of a great advertising campaign (especially compared to the 3GS which was dismal IMO). BTW, I wonder if the trunk gets smaller if the rear steer is used? I'm seeing 14.3 vs 18.7....and I've seen the trunk and 18.7 seems right.
So guys/gals, how do you like that Lexus is possibly sportiest in class here.

Yup and I was the first to point that out.
I'm curious about how the non-F-Sport GS compares though. I think it'll still out-handle the base 5-series but we'll see.

If this car gets new powertrains next year it will be 2GS all over again.

Interesting stuff (and something to look forward to especially if Lexus releases a GS-F).
Btw
How does the GS 350 F-sport compare to say an IS-F?
Just curious

Nice! You almost have to wait until 2013 for the potential drivetrain update though.
And boy do I hate the silver "Aiwa boombox" silver accent on the steering wheel. Would look good painted black! I have to get one of these 4GSs though. Have to.
