Congrats! There are three mini videos presinstalled. You can also upload your own picture also. The instructions are somewhere in this thread. I can't remember them off the top of my head.

I use a 1GB Sandisk Thumb drive. I use an image that is 640x480 and it's 96 KB or .96 MB in size. I am sure there is a limit to size and resolution it can handle or load. I don't know the MAX size of the space allocated to the custom images.

I have also used a Dane Elect 8GB Thumbdrive as well.

The biggest issue most people seem to have is the Folder name is incorrect since it is case sensitive and must be withoutspaces, or the folder is not at the ROOT of the drive.

I would guess anything in the 640 x 480 aspect ratio would work fine which is 4:3 or standard Pan and Scan dimensions.

I attached the file we use for you to reference in case you want to test it out.

Also I have learned it does not read MAC formatted Jump Drives for some reason, as we had someone come in using one that had been formatted for MAC, so keep that in mind. I do not know what version of MAC it was formatted for as well. This is spoken from experience with customers who have had issues in service and they have had me help them fix it.

Help here too! We need DIY for the start up image and the off image too. I tried to use my USB drive but it didnt work. I followed the manual with the name of folder same as written in the manual but with no luck.

The car runs on unix so make sure directory names match the manual exactly, they are case sensitive. Once you match the names, it will work perfectly.

I don't think you can do it because the car startup screen only supports custom files that are .jpg / .jpeg files, which are not a file that can be animated. I have tried several different formats, from .gif, to .mpeg to .mp4 to see if would recognize it without any success using the current system setup. I will see if I can get in contact with Lexus corporate and find out. I know there are lots of people who would like to be able to do this. I'll keep you guys posted. They had to know that allowing people to customize the startup picture would lead to wanting a customized startup animated graphic.

Maybe that will be the new feature on a 2015 GS 350 or their next generation of Navigation screen start up.
