Default What IF.....

Many have been disappointed with the info on the 4GS and many are OK with it. I am with the later.

What IF Lexus introduce the GS-F Sport at SEMA with 3.5l V6 piggypack with a TRD supercharger, making in the neighborhood of 360-380 hp and a year later the 4GS-F with the retuned version of the 5.0L V8 making about 480-500 hp?

So here you go:
GS350 - 306hp as the base
GS450h - 338 hp for efficiency minded
GS-F Sport - Enthusiats with light pocket
GS-F for hardcord and heavy pocket folks.

Are you ALL happy?

I think there is still room for GS250 or GS300 to bottom out the line up.

Agree that there is still room for a GS250, but I think it would compete too much with the ES. Maybe not - who knows?

Would a S/C on the GS F-Sport make me happy? Yes.

GSF needs to be 520+hp, not 480-500.

If we are lucky the GS-F will show up sometime late 2012 or early 2013..

If we are lucky a factory re-tuned / re-tweaked IS-F motor can make approx 475 hp...

The GS350 with factory F-Sport Package is already here and has 306 hp...
The rest will be Sporty Interior & Exterior Accents, Sporty Suspension & Sporty Staggered 19" wheels & tires.

Lets just be realistic at this point..!!

a supercharged version of the gs350 f sport with 380hp, personally i am ok with it. it's close enough to the competitors and i am sure it's going to be fun to drive.

480-500hp gsf? i don't need to get into another discussion, but i will likely look elsewhere

at best, S/C would be sold as an aftermarket accessory through Lexus dealers, just like with TRD S/C for their trucks.

But i dont think it would end up being either faster or cheaper than GS450h. When it comes to hybrids, it is similar to diesels - you cant just look at hp numbers.

If they think a 475hp GS-F will cut it, then THEY should be realistic and quit the GS-F idea totally ......

Most likely Lexus will not make a GS F with 520hp. I think at this point Lexus should forget about the GS F and just bring back the V8 GS 460 with 400hp and call it a day...

For some reasons, I really doubt lexus will make GS 350 F-sport with 360-380hp. I've reread the article http://www.insideline.com/lexus/gs-3...rst-drive.html.
They seem not to mention anything about feeling extra boost in the F-sport model. Any comments?

personally i doubt about supercharger as part of f-sport as well, but i will keep my hopes up (just like how i wish the typo of 450hp on gsh was true). if really no supercharger, my fear on the gs is as great as ever.

gs is a SPORT sedan for crying out loud. being fun to drive is one thing, but as tech / expectation / speed continues to grow, the gs doesn't seem to be keeping up at all. it will be quite shocking if lexus really deliver a gsf that's comparable to the upcoming m5 and e63, because of the tremendous gap it has from the rest of the gs lineup

^^^ This right here, the gap would b huge. from a 340hp to +520hp with nothing in between? thats insane.

Now The supercharger/Turbo F sport model is wishful thinking, but toyota has done it before so its not totally out of the picture, and they have even done it w the their 3.5l engine but again, that schit only added 50-70hp but costs alot more than the regular model. But atleast its something , and thye deffinately need that something.

EIther way, if F sport doesnt add a supercharger, TOMS will/should, else those guys are just as useless at performance too.

agreed. tb it gotta be go hard or go home. They did good w the ISF and the LFA, it would be a shame to not come with it with the GS. I still have high hopes.

i won't even bother with toms. their prices are nothing less than laughable. 15k or so for like 50hp?

I'm keeping my fingers crossed for forced induction...

This will be a better alternative to meet strict emissions, mpg, etc... and also be an attractive option in the tuner market.

The new 550i's Dinan Stage 1 costs $3000 and brings power up to 495 HP @ 5000 RPM ; 573 lb-ft @ 3500 RPM. What a phenomenal deal.

If Lexus offered something like that people would go crazy for it, but over on the BMW forums $3000 is still too steep for a ~100 HP boost. That's how well BMW owners are taken care of. They've been "spoiled" with cheap and strong aftermarket support for their cars for years. The difference in aftermarket support between the two brands is night and day.

I can only wonder if Lexus will ever attain this level. I'd like to say it's possible in 15-20 years.
