The same engine in the Toyota Mark X, when supercharged, makes 360hp/367ft-lb torque :

Thought this fact would be interesting as it indicates the realistic modding potential of the GS350 engine.

it is hard to make any sense of that without knowing exact numbers for old generation of GS350.

Batman,

I am jealous of the 550i you are getting.

That car will outperform some of the super-cars out there. Unfortunately the new GS will never hang in that territory.

I wonder who will be supercharging their new GS.

The Audi A6 3.0T can do 0-60 in 5.2 seconds thanks to the the supercharger. In some motor magazine tests it has been under 5 seconds. That's quite a bit better than the GS350 despite a similar hp rating.
While that may be, five tenths of a second isn't that bad considering how much more problematic VW's 3.0T is.

You have replied to a thread that is 8½ years old [edited from 7½ years old because JDR76 pointed out my mistake for the whole world to see]. Just sayin'...

lol back in 2011 we wanted and probably expected a minimum 500HP GS-F only for them to deliver a 467HP GS-F in 2016. Unfortunately the HP wars are back in full effect and cars are getting quite fast.

Lmao. This is true. It's the reason I didnt go for the Gs430 when I bought my GS. I didn't think the 30hp extra was worth the effort. It's also the reason I'm trying to LS swap my GS

Since this 8½ year-old [edited from 7½ year-old because JDR76 pointed out my mistake for the whole world to see ] thread has been brought back to life I'll keep it going a bit longer.

With some GS 350 owners wanting significantly more horsepower and are willing to spend big bucks to get it, I'm a bit surprised that no one has sought to replace their GS 350 3.5L normally-aspirated V6 engine with the V35A-FTS 3.4L Twin Turbo V6 engine that powers the LS 500 with 416 hp @ 6,000 rpm and 442 lb.-ft. @ 1,600 rpm. This engine is bound to be in a junkyard somewhere in a totaled (2017-present) LS 500. I don't know that it will, but the Twin Turbo engine might just fit right in. The engine should easily get over 500 horsepower and over 500 lb.-ft. of low-end torque by increasing the boost just a few psi. That should please the power hungry!

That thing could probably handle over 1000 HP like a modern 2JZ engine. Toyota usually overbuilt their stuff.

Tuners need to get their hands on that thing and maybe if they put it on the more affordable models like the GS/RC/IS, it'll be more accessible to tuners. LS is too expensive to mess around with.
