The 2GS is still my favorite. I would say the 1GS and 3GS aren't as good, but I still like them. I'll have to see the 4GS in person first.

2GS was and still is a special car. Even the Vertex company made a 3GS conversion kit for 2GS lol. That has to mean something!

3rd Generation by far. . Followed by 2, 4, 1. . 4GS is not that pretty. If the 4GS had a kia emblem a lot of people would be commenting on how ugly it is.

This sums up my thoughts exactly.

For me this 4GS seems like it will be the spiritual heir to the 2GS, which combined sport and functionality(has a useable rear space unlike the 3GS) and wrapped it up in a pleasing style which has yet to grow old for me.

Seems like the 4GS has the sport part down, the functionality as well(increased head, knee and leg room for both front and rear passengers) and I honestly am in love with the looks of this car.

IMO, the 4GS is what the 3GS should have been : an expansion of the strengths of the 2GS while addressing and fixing the weaknesses of the 2GS. Instead Lexus screwed up with the 3GS and basically threw away everything that made the 2GS desirable while adding nothing in return. For me, the period 2005-2011 is a bad dream that should be expunged from Lexus GS history. The 4GS is what makes me enthusiastic about Lexus as a car brand again.

I think the 4GS will turn out to be the car that die-hard 2GS owners have been waiting all these lean years for and will finally be the car that convinces them to let go of their beloved 2GS and let it retire into the sunset....

I still have to go with the 2nd gen. GS as my favorite. The styling was/is very unique to Lexus, and out on the road compared to other sedans. The quad headlights and tail-lights are beautiful/sporty. The new 4th gen. GS in base trim at least, looks way to conservative/bland. I think it fits better as the ES replacement as far as styling goes. It would have been great to see a 400 hp V8 show up to compete with all of the GS's competitors V8 cars.

2GS is best by far, especially if you think in terms of it's time.

A lof of people suffer the newer is better syndrome though, they don't really think about how good anything actually is, they just think anything newer is better.

I am gonna try to shut up on the 4GS now, I got nothing good to say.

Im going to have to go with 3, 4, 2, 1.

I thought the quad headlight design really made the GS stand out from the other cars in it's class. I understand the whole branding thing but the 4GS just looks too much like the other cars in the lexus line up, it doesnt really stand out anymore. idk maybe i got to see in person and a redesign is always nice to see, but just wish the exterior had more "omph"

I like 4,2,1,3 The 2nd GS was classic IMHO, Man I still remember Biggie and Jay-z Rapping about those cars. The 3rd gen never got that shine.

I Like the newest 4th gen because oh how it looks and technology, and dont get me wrong, i'd still rock a 3gs!

heres a prefect example,

I have owned both a 98 GS 400 and currently own a GS 450H...My two cents, the 2 GS was a game changer for Lexus as far as styling and performance. Lexus officially announced to BMW and Benz it was trying to compete by having the most stock HP of the class in the 2 GS. Unfortunately for Lexus, the emphasis on performance did not continue after 2 GS and Lexus went with heritage (comfort and reliability). The segment is too competitive not to concentrate on styling and performance, so with the 4 GS my hope is Lexus will pay attention to what makes BMW and Benz international players in the sport-luxury segment; the styling is alittle more agressive, but the performance is only partly obtained with driver ergonomics (suspension performance) and no HP increases or gains (307HP just won't do!)

Def the 2GS is still the best and was a true game changer for Lexus
The whole world was talking about it, not just car mags.

My order overall = 2, 4, 3, 1.
Order based on looks only = 2, 1, 4, 3......The 1GS looked awesome for its time.

If 4GS has no V8 or GS-F version, i will put it last.

Wow. If I had to drive one or the other, it would be no contest between a 3GS and 2GS... would definitely take the 3GS; however, in its time the 2GS was respected much more. If you had a GS400, you were ballin.

What the 4GS did for me personally was justify my staying with Lexus over the new 5 Series or E Class. This time I'm waiting until a new engine comes out though. I have an 06 GS300 and a 10 GS350, but this time I want to get the most powerful engine they offer, with the exception of a GSF. I like the wood trims and understated elegance over the inevitable sporty interior choices that will come with a GSF. I've been wanting a 911 for a long time and I think if I spend 80K+ on a car it will be one of those and have a luxury sedan GS as my daily driver.

Who knows though... maybe a GSF will blow me away and I'll get it if they ever make one.

Nope, there are others who like the 3GS best.

We're talking about just looks right?
Cause we can't judge the drive of the 4GS yet.
