Racer
I'll reserve final judgment until I see the car in person. The problem is that the GS have so much competition to sell very well. First it has the 5/M/E/A and then as a young single guy like me I’m going to go even further and compare it to the CLS/A7/Porsche.
I love all the technology updates and the interior looks great except the cheese looking radio but that’s from the shiny pictures.
Exterior so far
Front - terrible I hate the angry person look. I prefer a smooth look.
Side - love it
Rear - love it
No matter what they got make a V8. I don't care if you only sell 5. Lastly Lexus please advertise the GS more.

If they only sell 5 V8 models...which is about 3 more than current pace, they're not ever making the V8 again. I actually like having a car that not a lot of people have...whether be it because of price or because it's not advertised enough. If I wanted to be like everyone else, I'd be driving a Camry....or BMW.
All that said, what the hell are they going to do for the 2012 model? Seems weird they would just skip it. Has there been any mention of an expected sale date for the 4GS...obviously after Jan 1, but anything more concrete?

Pole Position
I am sure I am being overly sensitive as I really like the 3GS exterior form (and thus own one)...and looking at this pic, I'm reminded how beautiful the lines are on the 3GS.
My main question is looking at this side profile of the 3GS, the outpouring of haters of this design to me is befuddling.
Can someone explain comments like 2GS awesome 3GS bad, boring? or even "Side still has cues from the old one ...but I like"...
so, despite these cues, you still like it?

Lexus Test Driver
I am still trying to figure out what made Lexus design the rear doors like that
I can't wait to go into the dealership and just ask them to test out the new ML system hehe
When they releasing the info on the GSh? One thing I will be amazed if they do turn the hybrid version into the so called GSh-F. Seeing the new M5 does 0-100 km/h in 4.4 or 4.5 seconds. If they found a way to reduce the weight in the GSh and add a few horsepower. Say like 400 hp, weight down to 4000 pounds and with the CVT it might do 0-100 km/h in 4.4-4.9 seconds. There is room for improvement. That is if Lexus does want to compete against the M5 and what not.
Anyways the new GS got a small hp bump. I am wondering why they didn't put in the 8-speed though.

Yeah, I heard about improvements to the ML sound system for the new GS. It now has three extra speakers (compared to the one in the 3GS) plus 5.1 and 7.1 surround and higher output.
Now that's going up a level
And man, the 12 inch screen. From the looks of it, it seems like the screen will be standard equipment (even if the car does not have GPS navigation).
With that, it's obviously guaranteed that the next-gen LS will also get this mammoth 12 inch screen (at the very least)

I like it much better now that I got to see the REAL thing, but still not impressed. From the front it looks to plain like an IS (they should of went with the 3 projector headlight from concept), and although the interior I'm sure is more comfortable and roomier like they are saying, I'm not a big fan. Looks way to much like a European Car (BMW) with the door-to-door IP. I prefer the individual cockpit style like the 3gs has.
Overall of course it's going to be "better" with upgraded nav, graphics, comfort features but I think they could have done a better job with it. I will not be getting one - Porsche Panamera Turbo HERE I COME!!

Apperantly bi-LED headlights are optional on GS350 as well.

Ok, I admit, the official pics of the 4GS does make the car more appealing than the leaked pics from China. BUT, I still don't see anyone w/ a working brain buying this car over an E-Class or a 5-Series.

February 2012 is the release date, according to Lexus.com, sorry if that's already been posted. Still wondering if they're going to badge the last few 2011 as 2012 (Limited Edition)...

e-class is already outdated targeting a older market / 5 series is beginning to show its' age already with a very spartan interior targeting performance / this GS seems to hit the sweet spot...enough luxury to appease the older segment but the edgier style for the younger...now if it can handle anywhere close to the 5 then Lex has hit a homerun IMO. Sad but the A6 seems to already be out of the contention for such a recently launched vehicle.

and if the articles I've read are true, about updating the cars every 3 years, then MY2016, the GS will get a new engine and be "new" again. Then MY2019, re-do the exterior/interior and carry-over the engine.
