Default Luxury Model Ugly Stock Wheel

Of course all taste is personal, and I personally dislike the stock wheels (9 spoke) that come with the luxury trim.Will I somehow be allowed to swap for the 5 spoke that come with the premium trim? Both are 18inch. Love all the features of luxury except the wheels.

I feel as if Lexus has been very hit/miss over the past 5-10 years with their wheel designs that seem to make it to production. It is almost as if they choose ugly wheels for the base models, just so they have someting better in the pipeline for the midcycle refresh. With that being said, I love all the optional 18"+ wheels currently offered for the IS line.

Here's my rating:

Average-looking or neutral

FUGLY as hell (more like EPIC FAIL )

BUT THIS

Great (we're getting somewhere finally)

AND

Top-of-the-line 19 inchers (The recommended choice )

Pretty much sums it up

Agreed, the Luxury line wheel is very ugly and pain to clean!

THIS! Only thing is i would have to go AWD and I'm not really into F-Sport (might have a kid in a year or two). So the 19s, as nice as they are, wouldn't work for me. Sounds silly, but as much as i want this car, if i can't do luxury with the prestige wheels, I'm going to have to pass. Maybe i'll stick with my '08 A6 for another year. I guess I can see how much it would be to build a la carte from base.

The spec sheet on the AWD F Sport I'm considering (but haven't seen) reads: " 19-inch Split-Five-Spoke Alloy Wheels w/Dark Graphite Finish & All-Season Tires."

Seems like these days wheels look horrific on "luxury" or "premium" models of most makes.

I had VERY similar wheels on my LS460 SPORT. Ugly AND tough to clean. Might have to invest in wheels .. maybe stock will grow on me ?

Anyways
@LEX900

If it helps, you may wanna try this one:

These are 18 inchers with twin five spokes. In Japan, these 18 inchers are available for version L or the l package..................but it is available for international and overseas markets as well.

You may wanna ask your dealer about it regarding how the procedure or arrangement would be regarding this (i.e. whether you can add the 18 inch five spokes to your car OR whatever possible arrangement can be made).

Hope this advice and info helps

@tomoshort

Yeah

The 19 inch F sport rims/wheels are definitely available for both RWD and AWD versions of the F-sport.

The only difference is that for RWD, the rear wheels are slightly larger than the front ones (i.e. staggered setup) while for the AWD, it's the same size and dimensions for both front and rear.

P.S.

Guys, on another note, you guys can also check this one out:

In an earlier post I mentioned a spec sheet that described a "dark graphite" finish. I haven't seen such a finish on any of the posted pictures?
