06 GS300 upgrade to bluetooth audio/aux input questions
I'm sure that this question has already been answered, but I can't seem to find it. If I was to purchase a cd player (and if need be navigation) from a new GS350 would it be compatible with my GS300 console? I just want an auxiliary input for my music or Bluetooth audio. I'm having trouble finding what I need to answer my questions. Any guidance would be greatly appreciated!

What do you mean by CD player? like the whole center console from a GS350? I installed a bluetooth adapter () which works great. Installing it was one of the most pain in the *** things i've ever had to do. Put two holes in my passenger side seat with my elbow trying to leverage the center console out. Finding a place to put the adapter was a pain too. Had to wedge under some air ducts.

This is what I have - has bluetooth (hands free / A2DP streaming), usb input for thumb drives, 1/8" headphone jack input (I never used that). It's been MOSTLY reliable, but there have been a few times it's gone haywire (update the firmware, and sourced a different location for power other than the line coming off the t-harness which stopped the resetting issues for me). It works for the 06 without navigation, and I believe it works for the 06 WITH navigation too. It's the cheapest unit I could find for bluetooth and USB inputs. You select it via the AM/SAT and it displays a few lines of text on the oem display for artist info.

I just aquired at 06 gs300 with Navigation. no ML. I went to GROMM audio website and purchased the $65 AUX Input kit. Its a simple plug and play into the back of the stock cd player. So now I have an AUX in. Then I went to amazon and bought this:
I leave it inside the center armrest since there is a 12v plug in there to power it. So now I have the latest bluetooth streaming tech for around $110.
