Oh man I wish it was so easy for me ...

Mileage 195k
left side bearing

Time to take out 12hrs... about 8hrs on my own and 4hr with my mate , bought slide hammer , similar to urs around 5kg , no result then blow torch lots of penetrating rust product still nothing million hits with hammer from each side still nothing ... screwed in the bolts which holds a bearing just to touch the thread on bearing to try to push it out with force... still nothing . Also trying to use coil springs compressor to push it out but no movement... Then I decided to go and use chisel (of course by damaging dust cover) between hub and arm and break dust cover with a lot of force one of us was using slide hammer another was digging in to it while it was hot from blow torch...

And then it take off... such a pain to take it out... nothing like on YT vids etc... now I need to wait just ordering 17s bolts to hold the hub bearing , and new break dust cover as it is gone..

I dont know if I will do another one but if I ever will I will think of something else to put force...

yes mevotech was ok( in my case )for bearing replacement but sometimes you can get bad batch of mevotech like on my lexus es 300h didn't last 2 months . -now i am using kugel for front and skf is still one of my favourite.regarding post which took saw 12 hours to take bearing hub out i would like to suggest new bearing hub assembly and new knuckle and put around a lot of grease silver or cooper and no more problems in the future.

Allso it will be good to do alignment after all replacement is done because after 12 hours of torture tie rod ends and sway bar bushings and ball joint must be put in correct position aand check for any freeplay.

cheers............ i am glad you guys like gs 450h

Would be good to know how those Mevotech bearings install, line up and how they hold up in the long run. Any issues with the ABS?
