Default Transmission issue

Transmission issue-img_5092.jpgI'm a first timer on here first thread 😬 I came across this website from gooogling my Lexus issues and it's pretty interesting !!
well to start my story I had my check engine light come on at about 180000 miles took it to Lexus Sewell here in Dallas and I paid the 60 bucks so they can check it out. At first they said it was some wires under the transmission so I was like great 👍 230 dollars later, the check engine light came on around the block after I left the dealership!! 😭 I went back and complain about how the rep told me that was the problem and that I would think they would know what's wrong since I bring it here after a little bit of back and fourth , with the manager!!! they refunded my money and diagnosed my car for free, turns out it was my selonoid/torque converter and gave me a estimate of 5000 for a new transmission which I knew with my car being 180000 miles Lexus wasn't going to bother helping me out. I had a old friend that used be a mechanic at Sewell he told me the he sees a lot of GS and IS with that issue . And to just run it till the transmission gives out well I did at 20000 miles I noticed it starting to jerk at take off and it's would shake and vibrate the car when it would go under 20 miles a hour. I lived with it till at 22000 miles it turned out it was only going up to third gear !!! And I finally made a mode and called a place called LQK which they sell you car parts I ordered a transmission and they gave a 2010 gs350 rwd with 55000 miles for 850 which I taught was a steal I ordered it and I picked it up to days later, then I took it to a shop called C and R transmission the guy rick was pretty good had very good review and charged me 450 to install it well I'm driving it and it feel good to drive it it honestly feels like the first time I got it !! I didn't send much so I think the place I bought the tranny gave me a one year warranty on it which was a plus not I'm check engine light free it feels good to see my dash not light up anymore lol !!! That's awesome, you got the car fixed for a great price. She's good for another 200,000 miles now!

That's great, I wonder how you got the tranny for that cheap! Good find.

Did they try changing the solenoid and flushing the fluid out of the old tranny to see if that helped?

homestly my transmission guy told me to fix the solenoid and do a transmission flush was going to be 650 but he said with the torque covert code coming on it could be complicated and probably more costly
