2009 GS-350 AWD, Reliability? Worth Buying?
I am looking at a 2009 Lexus GS-350 AWD with automatic transmission ( idk if they come in Manual ) car has 91,000 miles he wants $13k for it ( Salvaged Title ) on it I was wondering how reliable these are, are there any common problems? if so what are they and whats it cost to fix? I don't want to get into something that costs a lot to fix. Guy says it has a salvage title but its been fixed already, Here is the link to the car.

I need something reliable I am trading my classic car straight over for it. I sold my daily driver 2 months ago due to bills stacking up after my dads death needed to pay moms bills and everything.I cant finance anything my credit is canned. So no choice but to sell so i can buy something or trade for something that gets more than 8 miles a gallon thats good for lots of driving. My imperial is amazing for weekend cruising and car shows not every day commutes. The guy is the owner of the dealership he at first was wanting to give me a BMW x5 4.4 but they are garbage and cost too much to maintain, Arn't these Lexus's just luxury Toyota's?
Also maybe List what year you have and model and how many miles and any work you done to it in a comment.
Does a salvaged title really even matter If the car been fixed & I plan on keeping it not selling it?
so bottom line are there worth getting for long term daily driving? how many miles can I expect out of that V6 AWD?
PS. I have never owned a lexus or Toyota
Link below is to my car I am selling and everything I've done to it. I did all the work in the past 7 months new 440 big block engine, tires exhaust. have 90% all the receipts. Sold my dads harley to get this bad boy finished they only made 5,233 of these 1964 Imperial Crown 2 Door Coupes and only 20% of those had the tilted steering wheel that was optional. if anyone is interested in buying or trading on here.

That GS350 is priced way to high, you can more likely find the same year and mileage with a clean title with no damage.
I wouldnt suggest you buy a salvage title car, unless its a bargain price and unless you see the before repair pics. Its very easy to rig a car up just to pass the state inspection. Also the quality of repair you do not know what you will be getting yourself into.
The GS350 is very reliable my 08 AWD has 150K miles on it now, with no issues and drives like new. Only thing to do precautionary maintenance at 90-100k the water pump will leak, easy repair and you can find Aisan pumps on ebay for $110.00
Now is the time to buy a used car before tax season, car prices will shoot up. New years would be the cut off! This is the lowest time of the year! Look on your local craigslist, ebay etc youll find a nicer car at a better price.

I paid less than that for mine 2 weeks ago, similar miles, clean title, spotless carfax, Mark Levinson stereo, parking sensors, mint condition, zero paintwork/issues, and 1 owner. Definitely shop around much better deals that this out there. Also, you may think you're never going to sell it, and then you get rear-end and the insurance company wants to give you $6k and total the car cause it's not worth fixing. Hypothetical scenario of course.
Good luck,

Run away. Salvaged title, with that kind of mileage, for that price? NOPE! 91k is just warming these cars up, but it just adds to the negatives from what you've listed. Be patient and keep looking.

I wouldnt say no to a salvage, depending on the money! Usually salvage title cars sell for 40% lower then clean title.
If you purchased a minor wrecked car and you did the repairs to it, depending on how much you paid and how much youll have in it then yes it is worth the headache. Especially if its your daily driver. The scary thing about buying a salvaged title is you wont know how badly it was wrecked and how good the repairs were. Many sellers (if they're honest) will show you the before pic, show you all the receipts of the parts used. Or if the airbags they replaced even work properly. I have seen many cars literally cut in half bondoed together and sold off at salvage title auctions, especially in Miami and Los Angeles.

I would only consider a salvage title vehicle if:
1) It was less than $1500.
2) Its parts are worth more than I paid for the vehicle.
3) I don't plan on using it as a daily driver, but just as a beater car.
Its about minimizing the risks. For the OP spending 12K on a daily driver - not worth the hassle.
