Default Broke one of my air vents, how do I remove?

So last night my girlfriend pushed the vent over while driving my car and today I noticed the clip for the vent was broken, it's the center vents above the nav, how do you remove this piece since I'm most likely gonna have to find an entire used vent to replace it.

Have you tried super glue it back on?

If there anything like the IS250's there should be a 2 tab's inside the top of the vent. You wedge a screw driver in both and yank it out.

I remember seeing instructions on how to do this on one of the rattle-fixing threads showing how to remove the nav unit and apply foam tape. The vent assembly has a power cable on the back that needs to be disconnected, and it's a lot easier to do when the nav unit is removed.

On a side note, I've been going throight the older posts to absorb some of the wisdom collected in this forum, and I've noticed quite a few posts about members' cars being damaged that start out with "So the other day, I let my girlfriend/wife drive my car..."

And before someone says it, this is not a sexist statement since it's based on factual information, not an unsupported generalization

Oh trust me I know, no one else is gonna treat your car with the same respect you do. At least she agreed to pay to fix it On my 2GS the whole vent assembly Just pulled out after prying some tabs if I remember correctly. I can't seem to find anything on it for our cars though, just nav removal. Don't wanna break anything trying to force it out.

From the looks of these pics on this auction the tabs are on top, maybe a push down motion/prying from the top

Go down to post #10 on the master rattle fix thread, has instructions for removing the assembly – looks like you do have to remove the nav unit before removing the vent assembly since there are a couple hooks on the bottom of the vent that interlock with the back of the nav. On the plus side though, your girlfriend now gave you an excuse to get rid of some of the rattles or install a vaistech unit if you haven't already done so since you have to take everything apart anyway!

Yup, just read that whole thread, honestly doesn't look toooo terrible, the first owner of the car brought it to Lexus when it was close to new for rattles and I'm pretty sure they installed some felt or foam between the nav and vents as there's a bit of a gap on both sides and my car has never rattled, I'll see to make sure when I take it apart, because whatever they did fixed the rattle problem completely.

Does anyone know if there's anything I need to look out for taking the nav out to do this? I may not even need to unplug it depending how long the cords are but I just really don't wanna screw up the nav taking this out to get to the vent. Should the battery be disconnected or anything when I unplug it?

Not sure if you need to disconnect the battery, though it there's no reason not to if it'll make you feel better. As for removing the nav unit, be sure to cover the gear shifter rod (I believe you'll have to unscrew the shifter **** to get the unit out) with a couple towels so the rod doesn't scratch the screen or anything else. It would probably also be a good idea to cover the center console trim (assuming that you don't need to remove it) so the wood doesn't get scratched.
