Struts!!! Please!!!
Hey all,
Wow (for a lack of a better word)! I'm still searching for struts all around (literally).. My car: 2008 GS350 AWD. Some say that the 2011 IS350 AWD is compatible front strut and rears are identical. Some say that I am stuck with OEM or some, go with BDR Coilovers with swift springs, which I would if there are no other alternatives.
Is there anything new for 2016? Alternatives to Coilovers? Can someone confirm that 2008 GS350 AWD front struts are indeed compatible with the 2011 IS AWD?
I would want near OEM Height with OEM (or softer) ride..
Thanks

Buy KYB rears from a RWD GS350 Theyll cost you around $200 I did this to my AWD.
Then buy the fronts from the dealer, sometimes you can find OEM AWD struts on ebay for a lot less.
You can try the IS250 AWD fronts, KYB does sell them. If anything you can buy one side and try it out.

Hi,
I'm not sure I would go with a mixed (not matched) set of struts on this car.. I think it may be compared to mixing different makes of tires, each tire has its own characteristic as struts do,, as well.
Any other options? Coilovers? OEM struts with swift upgrade springs perhaps?
Thanks..

KYB is what the OEM uses, if you look under your car you will see KYB stickers on the shocks. When I pulled my OEM I compared them to the OEM and they were exact shock. Same valving, as my old set was still good.
Why do you want to replace the springs, springs hardly ever go bad in cars. If you ran coilovers that will more likely give you a firmer ride depending on the spring rate you choose. Also because you have an AWD if you lower that you will get drive line vibrations at idle and up until 20mph.
