My brother was driving along on the local highway and the car shut off while he was driving and wouldn't start back up. It had a check engine light and the code was for the fuel pump.. I checked the pump and it's operating normally, I pulled out one of the coil packs and checked for spark and its sparking. Can someone please help me out on this one? thank you

which fuel pump did you check the high pressure one on the engine or the low pressure in the fuel tank

When i switch the car to the on position, I can hear the pump turn on and hear the fuel flowing, I loosened the fuel line thats above the intake and gas flew out of there like crazy

maybe the high pressure fuel sensor. what did the codes read. Are you getting a crank no start

It's cranking but wont start

See if you can get a scan tool that reads live data, You want to see what your rail pressure (high pressure) is. Your could also try and spray some brake clean carefully in the intake to see if it fires
