Looking to purchase 2006-2011 GS. What to look for?
Hi folks. new to the board. Within the next few months, i'm gonna be looking at purchasing a Lexus GS. I've always wanted one since they first came out back in the 90s. I've owned a 2003 Audi 6, 2005 Mercedes s500 and a 2000 Cadillac Deville. I test drove a 2006 GS 300 a month ago, and i can say that it was better than any of the previously mentioned luxury cars I've owned as far as the ride and the fit and finish was on par with the Benz and Audi.
I initially wanted to move over to a Chevy Camaro SS because of the poor reliability of the German cars and the Cadillacs. Cheaper to work on a Camaro. I got to thinking about my old desire to own a Lexus GS and went and test drove the one i mentioned above. I would be getting good performance, albeit a softer ride than a Camaro, but still, its pretty much what i want, a midsized luxury performance vehicle. I know the Lexus is a v6, but thats not a deal breaker.
I'm looking to purchase one anywhere from 2006 up to 2011. I know the 2006 didn't have a auxilliary input. Thats a huge thing with me, being able to hook a android or apple device to the car to play music. Other than that, is there anything else i need to be looking out for with a particular year? Are all the years pretty reliable?
Thanx in advance.

out of all the years, the consensus says the 2006 GS300 is the least reliable of all the models, the GS460 and GS430 being the most reliable. The GS350 isn't bad, it's still the same engine being used til this day, along with it being in the GS450h. (correct me if I am wrong in here anyone, as I haven't been keeping up with any of my GS's lately)

I'm also looking at buying a GS and I've done quite a bit of reading on here about the different models. The 06 is the one you want to stay away from apparently. And if you get an 08 or newer it comes with a lot more options. Like auxiliary port/usb ports and such. The 450h has the possibility of the battery going bad which is expensive to replace. But there are a lot of cases where Lexus has paid to replace it even though it's out of warranty. If I had more money to spend I'd probably get as new as I could afford. From what I understand, these have only gotten better as the years have gone.
Good luck on your search. Make sure to post what you get!
